My bus has different classes, we take turns with first class, Then there’s business class and they actually have TVs also there’s premium and economy then a standard bus seat. Also there are overhead bins and the bus drivers daughter works as a ride attendant and it’s hilarious. I’m normally able to hook up a business or premium seat on the way to school unless it’s my time for first class and on the way home I’m normally in economy or standard because it’s more crowded and I get stuck in a stampede. There are two first class seats, four buisness. Four premium, six economy and eight standard

I remember riding the bus to school back in the '90s. There were a couple of different models and it was such a long time ago, but all I can really remember was the bus having a gigantic stick shift and there was a metal handle that would open and close the door when the driver pulled on it. I wish I could thank all the drivers that drove me to school and brought me back home safe and in one peace every single day throughout that time - wherever they are, here and gone, thank you for being one of the many parts that made my childhood so wonderful. Shout out and bless everyone who has fond memories of these magical school buses! If you know what kind of bus I'm talking about, let me know!

personally, i would say number 6 deserves that number one spot. It’s agility and it aerodynamics coupled with it’s unique facilities such as highly visible lights truly gives that vehicle an edge over its competitors. I would argue that numbers 1,2,5, and 7 do not have many seperating factors, and do not trump number 6.

Coming from California nothing beats Crown and Gillig school buses. Sadly both quit building school buses in the early 1990s.

My school bus here in Australia was a MAN SG192 articulate, owned by Stewart & Sons Coaches. The Australian government gives contracts to long distance travel coaches to also do school runs too.

I can remember when there were a bunch of different class A school bus makers instead of the 3 that survive today in the USA: Oneida Crown Wayne Superior Hackney Ward Thomas Carpenter Bluebird Gillig When I was riding them as a kid, they all had their own styling, too - not the big yellow shoe boxes of today.

I drive a 2018 IC with a Cummins engine in St. Albert Alberta. We cannot use the 8 way flashing lights in town, so students must be at the bus stop before the bus arrives

ALL BUSES SHOULD BE THE SAME SIZE SHAPE AND MODEL . MY SON WHO IS HARD OF HEARING HAD TO RIDE THE BUS WITH THE KIDS WITH AUTISM ESPECIAL ED AND WHEEL CHAIR AND HE WAS ALWAYS UNCONFORTABLE . HE WANTED TO RIDE WITH HIS HOME TOWN FRIEND, BUT HE WAS FORCED BY THE SCHOOL TO RIDE THE OTHER BUS WHICH I BELIEVE IS VERY UNFAIR FOR KIDS WITH COCHLEAR IMPLANTS .

Hi from England. Who finances school transport in the US; it it the local authority? In the UK local County Councils are responsible for school buses but they don't own or operate any of their own vehicles; instead they contract the routes out to local bus & coach operators who have to tender for them. That's why yellow school buses aren't a thing here - bus companies couldn't afford to have dedicated school buses standing idle most of the day and weekends.
