There’s a visual reference to Alfred Hitchcock’s vertigo towards the end of the game. When Mario and Luigi are climbing the square spiral staircase to get to the roof to fight King Boo, Luigi peers down, then the camera then does an angle from above and does a dolly zoom to make the staircase appear to stretch further down. It looks exactly like a scene in Vertigo.

Whoa...go to 6:29 and listen very carefully too what Luigi says. When the fireball starts coming towards him and Guigi it sounds like he says "holy sh*t." I just started playing it and haven't made it that far yet but...when I do I will have it playing in surround sound so it should be crystal clear. There is another ending well its not technically a ending I guess it might be. Like one of those begging game secret endings. Even though it's considered a death. If king boo catches you near the beginning it has a cut scene with him laughing at you in the picture frame he made for you. It's the only bad "ending" I know of
