Great show, nice to see Jeff on your show. I’m not in love was their highest charting single, reached #1 in the uk and #2 in the us. Things we do for love only obtained #5 in the us and #6 in the uk.

'People In Love' from Deceptive Bends is one of my Top 5 favorite songs EVER. I have yet to find anyone who loves that song as much as I do.

I think they suffered from the same snobbery ELO did until Jeff Lynne was deemed 'cool' again the last seven or eight years & finally ELO were inducted into the HOF. 10cc hopefully will fall back into fashion with the mainstream at some point soon.

10cc were the first band I ever saw at Hammersmith Odeon in London, March 17 1983. I was 14 and completely blown away by my first experience of live rock music (I’d seen various jazz groups at school). I always think of them as the English Steely Dan. Sophisticated arrangements, wry, intelligent lyrics and stylistic variation. My favourite tune of theirs has always been ‘I’m Not in Love’, one of the greatest records ever made. One other thing - I have a cousin called Mandy and she became an air stewardess. I couldn’t believe it!

Saw 10cc when I'm not in love came out and weren't expecting all that much.Boy we were completely wrong there.Turned out to be one helluva rockin' show and one of the best shows we'd seen in a long time.They were terrific and true pros !

Since I'm a sucker for band biographies, right after I watched this, I watched the 10CC documentary that Jeff mentioned. Wow! I never knew that's how that song was constructed and that Eric Stewart was already a star before the band. I did know a little about Graham, but didn't know he had that many hits. Kinda like the British Carol King.

Saw them in Frankfurt, Germany in 1980. Went by myself. Wanted to see them. Good show. They were one of those bands that I only cared for the hits. But I really loved side one of the *Bloody Tourist* album. They are touring in Belgium and the Netherlands at the moment but Graham Goldman is the only remaining original member. Over here, Dreadlock Holiday was their biggest hit

10CC were very big in the UK and got hit after hit. Inventive as fuck and their catalogue is ridiculously good. Great band,but no mention of Silly Love? Would have thought Pete that with the aggressive riff from the off,you'd have loved it. I certainly do,and when i saw them in the mid-70's in Manchester (their home town) they did a 15min version of Silly Love and really rocked out that night,which of course they could,they could pretty much play ANY genre and master it.

I love the deceptive deadly bends album. I need to get into the pre-scism albums. The tunes i have heard were mostly too quirky for me before. Eric Stewart sang the things we do for love and worked with McCartney in the 80s.

What a surprise! jeff young who played lead guitar on the 1988 album by megadeth is a fan of 10cc, anyway, 10cc was the most sophisticated band in the seventies both musically and lyrically, they are one off the most successful bands in England from the seventies, they had some kind of success also in the U.S.A, i'm not in love is their best song and surely one off the best songs in history, thanks as always

@@jeffaudrain5117 Modern Music, Futurama and Axe Victim are an incredible three-year output for any artist to have recorded. Bill was a genius and he never got his due. In part, because he didn't want it. He ended Be-Bop because of the press he was getting. Bowie comparisons and expectations drove him to disband the group and try less commercial styles during his career.

.....OK so, mine is going to be a BIT different than either of yours; 1) "I'm Not In Love" - NO other song like it before or since, although Kevin & Lol used a most notorious part to segue into "Cry", and Eric joined with Andrew Gold (who composed the STELLAR, Rundgren-influenced "Lonely Boy" as well as 'Golden Girls' theme "Thank You For Being A Friend") to bookend same a decade-plus later with (American) WAX's "Ready Or Not" 2) "The Things We Do For Love" - MAJOR Macca tribute 3) "I'm Mandy, Fly Me" - while 10cc was decidedly more eccentric than Ambrosia, this fantastic minor hit proves they shared MORE than a little sonically 4) "Speed Kills" - unique as ALL get-up - particularly the tempo but, definitely takes its textural cues from mid-period / Pepper's Fabs 5) "Wall Street Shuffle" - FEW songs around that time warned BETTER (or more audaciously) of what was to come shortly 6) "Rubber Bullets" - fits NICELY with Steely Dan's "Reelin' In The Years" come spring '73, and beyond 7) "Art For Art's Sake" - again, VERY Ambrosian 8) "Dreadlock Holiday" - NOBODY saw THIS coming from Eric & Graham 9) "Donna" - a PERFECT doo-wop homage 10) "Headline Hustler" - reminds me NOT a little of Chi Coltrane's tour-de-FORCE single hit "Thunder And Lightning" 11) "Fresh Air For My Mama" - presages Pack, Puerta and their bandmates yet again (HAD to add an 11th selection - can you TELL there's MUCH that I like about the debut? LOL Still, definitely LESS than perfect - Sheet Music IS a better album but, with highlights lesser than its predecessor).....honorable mention: ".....Last Supper", "Good Morning Judge" - not familiar enough with post-Deceptive Bends to include but, multiples from Ten Out Of 10.....

10CC remind me a bit of Alan Parsons Project and supertramp, but not as good. Other than "The things we do for love" and " i'm not in love", they don't have any memorable tunes. Many of their songs I find kind of hard to listen to.
