The Tactical Flute is based off of a Shakuhachi. A Japanese end blown flute. FUN FACT! Durning the feudal era of Japan, a sect of monks were considered outlaws by the shogunate and were hunted down by Shogun trained spies with specially made Shakuhachi flutes designed to be used as a bludgeoning weapon.

The slime synthesiser reminds me of "circuit bending", which is a practice that electronics hobbyists do with old keyboards. They drill holes in the keyboard chassis and add extra buttons / switches / dials where the holes are made, then wired into the original circuitry. The idea is to create bizarre sounds when you play notes on the white/black keys that the keyboard cannot otherwise generate
