When you sing you mostly rely on vowel-sounds. A lot of what makes french french are the consonants. It's actually particularly difficult to sing in French (technique-wise) cuz your consonants cause one to close up the throat. But vowel sounds are specifically meant to produce long clear sound. You mostly use vowels to sing and you often automatically change the closed consonants to open ones. So the distinct french consonants disappear. Does that make sense? :)

I'm gonna be honest with you here. It's not that impressive, so many countries learn English in school from a very young age (nowadays), and are exposed to so much English through music, tv, movies etc. It's almost just a disappointment or a rare thing that for example Americans or British people don't speak a second language more or less fluently :)

She was the best of all those voices, a more educated voice, what those who are seated are looking for are singing styles, they are looking for singers without fluids of the natural sound of the voice. At present, the educated voice does not interest them, they do not understand it, they believe that it does not transmit emotions, for them to transmit emotions is to shriek. The girl was in tune, only the last treble had some problem at the end, but the rest was fine, she was the best of all.

Well, that's the thing tho, they aren't judges. They are coaches. Opera isn't their league and it's hard to coach opera as it is, and impossible if you don't have any idea. Because her performance was just kinda meh. Ok cool you can hit an E6. So can plenty of other people. That's the most impressive thing about the performance. Other than the high note, it was just boring. It was generic, not very interesting, and there wasn't really anything about her that stood out and they want things that are wild and different because those get ratings and that makes them money. Her audition was better for community theatre, not television.

Cheyenna Dennison I love KESHA, like a lot. But that’s not true. That’s not why she doesn’t do it live. It’s because she’s worried she’ll mess up. She tried multiple times to hit it in the studio and only hit it after a certain amount of tries. She won’t do it live in case she doesn’t hit it properly.

Opera is difficult but not because it's high. Because it's emotional and powerful and she didn't sing it that way. She was hitting the notes, but she wasn't hitting the feels. I'm sure that's why the judges didn't turn, they may not be qualified to judge opera, but they know when a song has meaning and they didn't feel it. That's what I think happened there.

The song was impressive, but her technique wasn't good. That's why they didn't turn. I've trained in Opera and hitting those high notes in the way she did is very unhealthy for your voice. Otherwise I'm sure they would've turned.
