Dude I appreciate you making these connections and keeping the digi-destined flame going here in the us it gained a solid fan base but was quickly washed out by pokemon. Don't get wrong I enjoyed pokemon but digimon was a show I was pissed about missing any new episodes on those beautiful Saturday mornings in the late 90s. Im truly interested in knowing wether there was more of push for you over the pond in this context( It should be blatantly obvious considering digimon seems to make up the majority of your content but I don't prefer to just make assumptions based in just visuals alone) I'm so happy to see it's still going 20 years after my introduction. I knew they had done specials but had no idea that we were blessed with this complete reboot. Last thing I've got to say in this comment is I admire your collection atleast the items I'm seeing within frame, would it be possible for you to post a complete view of what you've collected? I lost a majority of my collection for several beloved animes because of family complications and events of that sort so seeing yours intact warms the soul of my inner child 🤷🏼‍♂️

The thing with Knightmon and the crest of hope seems to be an allusion to the catholic crusades and such. Since hope is attached to a literal angel digimon its probably seen like a cross and was used similarly. The other obvious Catholic connection Knightmon has is its evolution is Crusadermon literally named after the Crusades lol, also Crusadermon usually being depicted as a woman or feminine presenting could be an allusion to Jean D'arc but that could be pushing it lol.

The original anime debut of Crusadermon in Digimon Frontier is the only time we saw the female version. She was super ready to woop ass and looked cool as hell. She felt like proper Royal Knight with Dynasmon as her comrade. Not sure why her version wasn't made the template for later iterations.

We do know that Knightmon have served several different lords, so some working under MagnaAngemon/HolyAngemon during the Wars is very likely. Also, there actually _is_ a D'Arcmon in the Frontier Movie - despite it being one of the disguises of the Villain Murmuxmon, it was based upon an existing Digimon Species. Crusadermon is another Digimon with direct command over dozens to hundreds of Knightmon. Even its Japanese Name is directly translated from Romanji to 'RhodoKnightmon' (Prefix Entomology based on the Pink-hued Mineral called Rhodonite), though the name is often incorrectly converted to 'LoadKnightmon' (which makes absolutely no sense) or 'LordKnightmon', where Translators tend to apply the Androgynous Knight trope to portray with a Male Voice...

Yes thats all v-tamer. The evil digimon you are thinking of is arcadiamon and hes one of the strongest evil digimon and along with lucemon, armegeddemon and a couple others. Hes one of the few evil digimon that are close in power to milleniumon, the strongest evil digimon ever or at least he is until we find out if the eyeball thing is a digimon or not. If it is a digimon then the wiki will have to update that a bit because it seems way stronger than milleniumon.

Seeing how Cyberdramon worked in tamers, becoming more violent and dangerous as an ultimate and being more pure and good when it was weaker, taking less influence from Milleniumon, as well as more controlled when Ryo’s influence was there as Justimon... just seeing a movie about their dynamic in general would be banging.

I only know this because I literally JUST finished reading V-Tamer like two days ago, but Knightmon did very briefly appear as part of Angemon’s army during Neo’s siege. I don’t blame you for forgetting/not noticing as they were not very prominent, but I thought I’d throw it out there. Also, thanks for acknowledging Appmon. I just finished that a few weeks ago and actually really liked it, and finding out that it seems largely forgotten or actively ignored was kind of sad to me. I get the sense some Digimon fans try to pretend it never happened, and I think that’s a shame.

I always liked how the Digimon franchise sort of established parallel universes in the series, like separate servers on the web connected by Digimon itself. Like how Tamers view of 01+02 is a show when we all know through Ryo, those events actually happened. You can even theorize that the current Reboot series isn't that, but just another parallel dimension/timeline to the original 01. Itd be neat if they alluded to that by the end but we shall see

I'd always heard that Patamon was originally going to evolve into Knightmon before they settled on the angel theme. The Crest of Hope on Knightmon could be an artifact of that if it's true. Ryo would have been awesome for the 02 movie but I could just imagine how most non-Japanese fans would have gotten confused when he showed up in Tamers since not a lot of people know the plot of the Wonderswan games. Especially since even without that a lot of fans didn't _quite_ grasp that Tamers was in a different universe than Adventure/02.

I think the dub is partially to blame for western fans thinking Tamers was connected to 01/02. I also thought more people knew about the WS games since there are lots of gameplays and discussion about them on the internet, or has been for a while.

@@aikou2886 incoming tldr. im pretty sure they are connected in the sub as well as in the original wonderswan games. The first game involved ryo akiyama being taken from the tamers timeline where he is originally from to the adventure timelines digital world and gathering an army of digimon to help save the original digidestined who have been taken by Milleniumon. Its also a sequel to digimon adventure taking place before 02 in a alternative bad end timeline that ryo fixed by defeating milleniumon there and no longer exists. Milleniumon is a damn timelord and killing him and restoring timelines he broke doesn't stop him from returning. The second game is the direct prequel to 02 taking place in the now fixed adventure timeline and goes far more in depth into ken ichijojis past and why he became digimon emperor and even why he created kimeramon in 02. Milleniumon is the one who created the dark seeds and infected him in the second game with one and most likely was using ken to try and resurrect himself in 02. Milleniumon and ryo are even in a flashback scene ken has when remembering his first visit to the digital world with his now deceased brother. The machinedramon that fused with kimeramon is actually the one from the dark masters as well. Tamers is very linked with adventure and adventure 02 and even breaks 02 as a story in some ways without ryo.

The dub actually removed much of that exposition and made it seem less linked not more which is another reason to throw into the massive pile of reasons we need a 02 reboot pronto after the current one ends. I freaking swear if 02 gets shafted yet again im going to go baby rage mode over it. Mark my words i will be crying, kicking and screaming for at least an hour before tuckering myself out and falling asleep with my thumb in my mouth if they skip over it to do a tamers reboot or adventure reboot tri next. Wonderswan digimon game anime works too as long as we get 02 reboot later on. V-tamer anime gets a pass free pass from me because veedramon is my boi and i cant be mad at my boi.

However, the first two seasons are not connected to Tamers unless you want to use Ryo as a loose connection in between them (not only be ause of the WS games but also because of him dimension hopping in the anime. If I'm not wrong he appears in the Diaboromon movie as a cameo. He does appear on Ken's flashbacks in 02 but this is more of a reference to the games so I have no idea what to make of it). But then again even if you can connect them through Ryo there's the fact that not only both plots are completely unrelated (Adventure/02 and Tamers) but also it's stated that Digimon is just a franchize in the tamers universe so even if the events of the first two series somehow took place on Tamers that was just a TV show (for them).

He even mentions finding his own way to his parents house when others offered to take him home at the end of tamers. He is a linked to both canons and is as much a part of both as mirei mikagura is to many of the digimon video game timelines and wizardmon is to witchelny and the digital world. Also as i said before, 02 doesn't work as a story without him and him not being a part of things there would create huge plot holes in the story. You cant say he isn't important to a story that needs him to be in it for the plot to make sense.

In fact, if you don't mind the angry commentary, go check out Digimon Uncensored. It's a website that compares the differences between the Japanese and English dubs, and the entry for this film stated multiple times that whole plot with the rogue virus just didn't exist in the first place.

Going off your Bandai crossover idea, I saw Yuri from ToV in that pic and I was like "that could be interesting". Have Apocalymon be the Adephagos. At the last minute when Yuri and the others can't beat him, the DigiDestined swoop in and defend them as they try doing what they did at the end of Season 1. At the end of the fight, have each of the team on both sides converse with their respective counterpart (Yuri and Tai, Matt and Flynn etc) to help each other in their future goals being set

The idea of Ryo in Adventures 02 movie would’ve been kool plus I think the events of that movie happens after they defeat Kimeramon and the Digimon Emperor out of Ken because it didn’t seem like Veemon Golden Armor Digivolving to Magnamon was anything new plus that movie could show that Kimeramon return to stumble into Machinedramon’s lost DNA and merge to become Millenniummon maybe Magnamon gets X Antibody to fight this newer powerful Jogress of Kimeramon keeping the rivalry going with Magnamon X vs Millenniummon. The thing is that Ryo seems a lot more headstrong and a gifted skilled Tamer over Willis and almost every other Tamer including 90% of the Digidestines with that small 10% being your Tai’s, Matts, Davis’s, Ken’s, Takato’s, Marcus’s you know the leader characters on Ryo’s level, Willis seems like just any other Tamer nothing wrong with that. Eitherway I still loved that movie with Willis and Wendigomon that serves as a dark Digivolution for Lopmon plus Dark Virus Cherubimon is AMAZING and the plot of that Virus coming from Diaboromon after being terminated by Omnimon thus intertwining both movies!!

This may sound corny but I wonder if knightmon was originally going to be an armor evolution for patamon or an evolution for seraphimon. Seeing as how MangnAangemon doesn't have a lot of armor or metal on him and the transition to seraphimon could be odd or maybe patamon's armor evolution was going to be knightmon with the "knight and Shining armor" but then changed to Pegasusmon to fit alongside with Nefertimon.

Copipemon is actually the original version. By the time Copymon became a Digimon it was already 2018, so Appmon had already come and gone. I'm not sure when the Copy Function was introduced but the earliest I've heard of it was in 2017's Digital Monster ver. 20th, so Copipemon probably predates that too.

The link between weregarurumon and metalgreymon and their x anti body forms makes me think of a theory that the reboot is a parallel universe (hence the difference between which year the events of adventure taking place and the technology the chosen children have) in that the new server that yggdrasil set up has to have some similar events occur (to bring certain requirements thats understandable by yggdrasil) but changes aspects of them so another project ark isnt required. If yggdrasil can create a new server whos to say it cant link to another universe all together (might also explain other continuities like the games & manga).

Is it possible to cover the history on who were the original digidestined prior to Tai and his friends? Like some say Ryu is the lost child to the world and forever stuck. Like was he part of that first group? Matt's dad in 01 mentioned that he had a Gabumon like his but it had a different evolution. But that topic was dropped like an egg. I wonder why? All we got was 2 original destined in the Tri series. That's all.

The Pegasus constellation is still called Pegasus. Monoceros is the Unicorn constellation and Equuleus is the Little Horse constellation (which is located near Pegasus).

It's definitely a plausible connection but technically SlashAngemon isn't really a "Crest of Hope" evo either as the Crest of Hope is very much tied to Takeru though Slash does now appear in the 2020 anime kind of so there's more of a connection than there used to be!

@@Karn_EX Knightmon is also a possible evo for Patamon's evolution tree just as SlashAngemon. Other evolutions for knightmon are Rhodonitemon and Craniamon; 2 of the Royal Knights. The crests showing up on knightmon shield is most likely just a design aesthetic, like how in real life the ancient Greeks used Medusa on their shields or the ancient English would use a cockatrice or basilisk on theirs. It would be used to intimidate, as well as to ward off enemies. For instance, the digital hazard sign appears on Dukemon but Dukemon is a vaccine type. Understanding that it is apart of the Guilmon line but the same cannot be said about ChaosDukemon who is a virus type loses the digital Hazard both on the armor and on its shield named Gorgon

Veedramon in V-Tamer wasn't shown to Digivolve from Agumon, it's only theorized. But C'Mon Digimon Greymon going on to become the design for Zeromaru/Veedramon happened before we had an example of Agumon becoming Veedramon.

As someone who watches the Pretty Cure/Precure multi series as well as Digimon, I saw that. Yukio Kaisawa has Kira-kira Precure Ala-mode in the background and is handling a plushie of that series' fairy. Did he help with that one too? .... Now I wanna see a Digimon/Precure cross-over..... Be too fun for the 'fairies' of the cross over to be digimon partners. Not the first time partners helped their human transform in the Precure series. And it'd be a nice call back to both Frontier and Tamers, though more like Tamers since Tamers still had that lovely partner relationship that I love so much.
