He's a cruel, cold-hearted, selfish, sadistic, psychotic, and merciless spider-like alien pirate with a never-ending lust for blood. He tries to kill Jim Hawkins twice and successfully-murders Mr. Arrow by cutting off his lifeline, making him fall into the black hole while screaming in doom. He also tries to expose John Silver right in front of the whole crew for being such a big ol' softie towards Jim in hopes that the gang will turn on him and even kill him. If I can suggest the ones I've seen and felt surprised about the villains' dark side, -Lady Tremaine from "Disney's Cinderella" 1950 was mainly not too much of a threat until she locked Cinderella in her room with those glowing eyes. -Rameses from "DreamWorks The Prince of Egypt" 1999 I thought he was just a regular Egyptian until I noticed his father's side of the story; he killed the baby boys and taught his son to never be a 'weak link.' And I thought that was disturbing from good brotherhood to enemies. & -The Cheshire Cat from "Disney's Alice in Wonderland" 1951 has a great Sterling Holloway voice and the best lines. Still, unpredictably, he gets the Queen of Hearts' bad temper against Alice and then snitches on Alice's insults to the Queen. I felt like Wonderland was nothing but helpless beings that didn't take Alice's reality too seriously.
