The new Hudson Tower will be 912 feet tall instead of the original 800 feet according to Dan Gilbert. Going from 58 stories to 62 stories as of now.

If you include antennas… the Penobscot Building is just over 600ft tall and the Central Tower of the RenCen over 750ft. Also in 1993 One Detroit Center now the Ally Building was originally supposed to have a slightly taller twin tower (660ft) just to the east, where the primary parking garage for the building is located.

The Jefferson side is shorter than the riverfront side of the ren. cen. According to the guennus book of world records the hotel was 748 feet at the tallest side making it the tallest hotel in the world at the time it opened.

None of these were built after 2000. Very historic city!

Well the Detroit region has been in an economic downturn for a couple of decades, so there's not that much capital to invest in new skyscrapers. However, in my opinion buildings need to be constructed way before the year 2000 to be considered historic.

That is OLD news! Renovation and construction are everywhere in Detroit's core these days! Search keywords like "Detroit's comeback ", revitalization, etc. Then see what comes up!
