After watching your video, the metro stations in Tashkent are a tourist attraction in themselves: with specific themes, architecturally impressive, decorated with marble, mosaics and glass, majestically lit. I really liked Alisher Navoi Station, Toshkent, Kosmonavtlar and Pushkin Station. And Gafur Gulom Station. Great video!
@WhereDoWeTravelNow11 ай бұрын
Definitely an attraction on its own! Next time I'll check some more. I've read online about other stations that are supposed to be super awesome. Need to come back one day.

This is a great summary video! It's totally understandable why Kosmonavtlar metro station is first on your list. I think I would spend the most time exploring here of all the stations. I really liked the turquoise tiles at Gafur Gulom station (one of my favourite colours :D) I would definitely be curious to see the other metro stations after your next visit! Maybe you could make a similar top 10 list of trains/other vehicles you've seen so far. I'm sure you've seen a wide variety of interesting things on your travels, from the most modern to the weirdest :)

Thank you for the lovely comment! A top 10 trains or train rides around the world would be awesome, something I would love to do. The only problem is that I haven't checked them all, not even a quarter 😅 So it would be a poor list without the Trans Siberian or other amazing trains. I need to travel a few more years (or decades) and then I can make such a video, too 🤭😂

Most of the station names are also reflected in the design. For instance, at Pushkinskaya station, Pushkin was a poet and novelist from the Romantic era, so the lighting there resembles candles. The Cosmonaut station represents a space breakthrough from the past.

You highlighted some great stations. In addition to those, I want to add that Tinchlik station looks pretty cool with all the art on its walls and so does Beruniy station with its ceiling and chandeliers. Bodomzor station is a nice one, too and Hamid Olimjon station gives romantic vibes. From the most recently added stations, Turkiston is a pretty and bright one. But my heart goes to Novza station which is where I lived and took the metro from every day.

In Tashkent, there is 48 stations, but only 9 of them were built during soviet union. So, your point is wrong. Most of them were built after independence
@WhereDoWeTravelNow11 ай бұрын
@@sevinchravshanova4861 Not really. 9 were opened in 1977, but in the next years they inaugurated many others. 3 more in 1980, 5 more in 1984, 2 others in 1987, then 2 in 1989, plus 2 in 1991 (April, so before the independence). That's a total of 23.. not the majority, you are right, but a considerable number. 😊

No one station of Yunusobod line, except of Yunus Rajabi, alas. You have missed the Bodomzor station of that line. It is also one of the best metro station of our city. Very sad sitiation in our metro with illumination because of the deficit of electricity. You can see a lot of turned off lamps, that's why the most of stations are so dark. They would've be yet more beautiful with full illumination.
