I watched clueless the first time when I was about 15 (it was 10 when I came out) then I watched when Iggy did her fancy video. Absolutely love it! Grease is another one. Whenever it’s on I’m watching. Mean girls though is my absolute favourite. There’s also a mean girls 2. It wasn’t too bad!

The Breakfast Club is by far the greatest teen film on this list ❤️. What a iconic, powerful movie that isn’t typically centered around sex and partying. It deserved the number one spot. I love Mean Girls, but it’s nowhere near as good as The Breakfast Club. Fast Times at Ridgemont High also should have been on this list.

I absolutely agree with Mean Girls being number one. That movie is iconic. 30 year olds have seen it and 20 year olds have seen it as well, it spans generations and remains relevant almost 15 years after its release. People still quote it (hell, this year I bought a top with a quote from the movie in it) and it even has its own date to be remembered. So while other movies on this list may be more profound, serious, or (arguably) better written, Mean Girls is has stood the test of time like no other.

I would like to give a shout out to How to Deal, one of the most underrated teen movies, and my personal favorite. Could easily beat many of the films from this list. Other greats missing from this list are A Walk to Remember, Cruel Intentions, She's All That. I tell you, late 90s/early 2000s was the golden era of teen movies.

It's very interesting to note that three of the movies here are based on the plots of classic novels: "Easy A" = "The Scarlet Letter" (Nathaniel Hawthorne); "10 Things I Hate About You" = "Taming of the Shrew" (William Shakespeare); and "Clueless" = "Emma" (Jane Austen). These stories are classics because they're universal. As long as you change the superficial packaging, they will always be relevant to modern audiences because they're so universal.

Teen movies in 2010s have The Fault in our Stars and the Perks of a Wallflower. John Wick is an action movie. Emoji and boss baby are kid movies. Times didn't change, you're just really bad at telling what a teen movie is lol

I couldn't agree more with this list. I've watched all these movies multiple times. The one movie I think should be added to this list or at least receive an honorable mention is Sing Street.
