I got introduced to The Clash at 14, went in my record shop with my newly shaved punk haircut and an attitude but in fact it was just that, I didn't know what to buy really!!! Lucky me, owner sold to me a copy cassette of their '77 debut and a pre-owned book with their lyrics translated in Greek by Stathis Panagiotopoulos... That changed my life FOREVER (now 46) ✨

I know death and glory did not make the list. But that was one of my favorite songs from the Clash. It was because when I first heard it the Iraq war started. It was a perfect song for me to hear at the time.

Still a great song

I was 8 in 1977 my brother was 15 and bought import records. I grew up on the clash. Sandinista was my political coming of age. And i listened a lot. The clash regae dub is awsome. Free your mind. Groove and funk dub is perfect sometimes. Turn up the bass.

Have you heard Sandinista? You didn't mention it a single time lol. It's definitely their most experimental and non punk record. Although, there are more traditional Clash songs on it. I really love it.
@thepunkrockreview14 күн бұрын
I absolutely do not like Sandanista. At least at this point. But I also don't really like London Calling and Combat Rock as an album is pretty bad, too. Imo, I mean.

@@thepunkrockreview sandinista is ass except magnificent seven that song is top 5

That song is good, but doesn't make my top 20, personally

@@BurntDisc Imagine not liking The Call Up, Somebody got Murdered, Washington Bullets, Up in Heaven, Police on my Back or Charlie Don't Surf. Those are all classics. The dubs and weird instrumentals are the only bad parts of that album for me.

@HenryMyth I just did a 20 minute clash vid on my channel and the problem I had it was the quantity of music... maybe I need to listen to these tracks in isolation

It funny ,The Clash 1st album gets accused of being raw and underproduced and Give em enough Rope,gets accused of being over produced and polished
