I am a fan of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, too. One of my favorite episodes is THE Night of the Meek with Art Carney, who plays a drunk, who is a dept. Store Santa but has a giving heart for helping those in need. I bought the complete series and have a marathon every now and then...❤

Rod Serling achieved success in 1955 when his teleplay " Patterns " was broadcast on live television's Kraft Television Theater. A year later, he wrote " Requiem for a Heavyweight " which garnered huge praise. Serling intensely disliked having to pander to corporate guidelines and sponsor censorship. As a result, he created the Twilight Zone, which used fantasy and elements of sci-fi in his scripts. It was a hit from the beginning. My favorite episodes are Walking Distance, And When the Sky was Opened and The Obsolete Man.

The changing of the guard, is my favorite. My public education lacked much and it has taken a long time to fill in the gaps. “Poem by Howard A. Walter (Character) I would be true, for there are those who trust me; I would be pure, for there are those who care; I would be strong, for there are those who suffer; I would be brave, for there is much to dare. I would be friend of all--- the foe, the friendless; I would be giving, and forget the gift; I would be humble, for I know my weakness; I would look up, and laugh, and love, and lift.” ― John C. Maxwell, Developing the Leader Within You

I can certainly agree with you about the reboot series which CBS produced in the 80s as I was involved with it behind the scenes. I think there were a couple individual stories which were okay, but the rest couldn't cut mustard. The original series can't be beat!

I found in the episode the absolute man the message government had proved their is no god but in the end the man sentenced tricked the judge / state into facing a certain death snd the judge cracked cried out to god and the whole thing was televised ! That’s why it’s considered preachy but it’s a great episode !!! My favorite is the howling man it’s just creepy and I love the way it’s filmed .

The shelter is a rehash of the Æsop Fables - The Ant and the Grasshopper. The doctor was the ant the neighbors were the grasshoppers. The best time to prep for trouble is yesterday. The second best time is now.

Interesting note about The Masks-it was directed by Ida Lupino. It was the only episode directed by a woman, but that’s not why I love it-it’s phenomenal and has a great moral lesson!

SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT TELEVISION SHOWS OR SERIES IN THE 1950S AND 1960S WERE BETTER. A LOT OF WORK AND CREATIVITY WERE USED TO WRITE THEM.

I like, Little Girl Lost, but I have a thought. That can still happen NOW, after Poltergeist and Stranger Things have been played. And it would be less believable then.

one film or short story I saw 40 years or more ago. Not sure if it was english usa 1950s 1960s. Very Alien looking creatures. A man lies in a hospital bed, has a bedside light projected onto a wall. There are transparent Amoeba typ creatures projected onto the wall. They are talking to him, asking him to join them, a nurse comes into the ward and knocks the light to one side, so the images of the creatures are lost. Later on he has an ear operation and can't hear them any more and goes back to his wife. I have never seen it since and can't remember what it is called.
