Hi Sara, is it possible to fill a bobbin without unthreading the machine? If so, would you please show us how to do it 🧵🙂🌺 Thanks for your wonderful, clear tutorials

The short answer is NO! Their answer to that is, we have the NEW IMPROVED LARGER bobbin, which they say it seems like it lasts ALL DAY! HaHa! My wife has had this exact machine in for repair since she purchased it over 5 years more than one would believe. I WOULD CHECK AROUND with several people who either have or have had this machine before buying. My wife is a very experienced seamstress and she generally does altering with this machine so she does very very little quilting so maybe this is why people who use it for that like it but it is NOT a machine where one may have to change both threads several times during a setting. Her last machine which was Singer 2001 (not year) and she sewed many garments for 38 years with only a couple times to the repair shop. Unfortunately one of the nylon gears finally wore out and Singer no longer makes any parts for that old of a machine. We decided to purchase a Bernina since they use to make very good sewing machines but I guess they are like everybody else their quality, anyway in our case, is no longer there. One can search YT videos and discover they, especially this machine, have all kind of problems. In our situation we are never able to speak with the repair tech so we never know what the problem was or if it could have been prevented. We treat the thing like it was a baby. Per their recommendations, ALWAYS properly cleaning it for stray thread or even lint bunnies. Then oiling it BUT not over oiling. You would swear one was having to do brain surgery just to keep the damn thing running and then it may work one time, put the machine back into its cabinet, get it out the next and the _ _ _ thing won't sew correctly. So, BUYER BEWARE!!!! This machine may do OK for quilting but I think one better look for a less sophisticated machine if one wants it for altering and costume repair. Just our very unfortunate and very exasperating experience.

I always fill the bobbin without unthreading the machine. Just thread a separate bobbin thread through.

Hi Sara, Quite a few you tubers have recommended against relying on the dual feed system for quilting saying it's not strong enough (in most cases) to replace the walking foot. Care to add more information? I would love to avoid purchasing a walking foot if I can...

The dual feed works differently from a walking foot. It pulls the top fabric forward after the stitch whereas a walking foot feeds the top fabric through at the same time as the bottom fabric. I find it much easier to quilt using a walking foot. Luckily I had one from my previous Bernina.

I love this machine. I have the 550 and I'm considering trading in.

I’m, Carmen and I’m wondering why can’t you use the attachment feet from other sewing machines ,on the bernina bernette77 sewing machine.

Can you merge files within the machine?

Does the 590 have the same capability of increasing the embroidery letters as the 570?? You stated 200, 300, 400 %.

When I'm doing applique raw edge with the button hole stitch, my 570qe skips stitches and I have a thread break very often. What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately you are not the only one. This model, since we have the exact same one, is an absolute NIGHTMARE! We have had SO many different problems with this machine BUT is NOT used for quilting mainly for alterations and for making dance or drama garments for our granddaughters. You can do many YT searches for this machine and one finds it has all kinds of little quirks but many prevent one from doing a job. Thus, BUYER BEWARE, of this model of Bernina. I kind of take it that it is not only this model but others too. For the amount of money one spends on buying this machine it should NEVER have any problems or very very few!!!

There's a number of things that can cause this. My first instinct is to change the needle, lift the presser foot, and rethread the machine. If that doesn't fix your issue, have your dealer take a look at it. I just started learning how to troubleshoot machines. Sometimes, it could simply be the type of thread you use. Of course, it's impossible to say exactly what is causing it without seeing it in person. I have heard it said that whenever someone has an issue with any machine, their first instinct is to blame the machine.
@bryanfoxx2292 Жыл бұрын
@@Memoreism It is the machine!!! The last time we picked it up for repair, we made them show us that they had fixed the problem. They seemed to have rectified the problem but demonstrating other things he ran into a different problem. WOW!!! To put it bluntly this machine, and other models according to YT comments, are a piece of, you know what! My wife has sewn for over 50 years on Singer machines and NEVER had problems. She knows all the ins and outs on trying the most common fixes. You say, well most people just blame the machine, thats because it IS! Same goes for computers, cars or anything else. If one knows all the intricacies, yes they know how to make them work. The amount of money these machines cost one should NOT have to take them in every time one trys to sit down to sew. Like I said, maybe they work for quilting but not doing the projects my wife has done for YEARS, WITHOUT problems. The machine is a NUISANCE!!!

@@bryanfoxx2292 I can't agree. I have a 570 QE and love it to bits. I've never had any problems and yes I do use it for many different kinds of sewing eg garment making and alteration, upholstery, leather and denim as well as quilting. By the way, to @elshellman8794, try lengthening the stitch just a smidge.

This video is misleading. It is mostly about embroidery, not about the 570QE specifically. I'm so not interested in embroidery.
