Doofenshmirtz is such a good dad. He doesn't pass his trauma onto his kid like we see in most shows, instead he uses his experiences as examples of what not to do, and prevents Vanessa from going through the same pain. It's so heartwarming.

I still love that Doofenshmirtz and Perry are basically best friends that sometimes have to face off against each other. But when it comes down to it, both of them have actually helped the other out when really needed. Doof let Perry borrow Norm. Perry helped Doof look cool to Vanessa’s friends. Doof helped Perry and the boys battle his other evil self. Perry got Balloony back for Doof. And there have been a lot of other things. It is just really fun. And yes, he (Doof) is a really great dad.

This was an amazing show for the messages that it taught kids (and adults, too, if they bothered to listen.) It didn't shy away from mentioning divorce, remarriage, or adults dating again. They expressed the message of going outside and adventuring instead of staying indoors all of the time. And character development showed how different all of the kids were (races, religions, opinions, viewpoints) yet there were no conflicts over them. In fact, they embraced their differences.

Idk if I'd say that exactly, but in this case, I definitely think it's fine. As long as they waited until he was 18, who cares? A good rule of thumb I follow is devide your age by 2 then add 7. That's the minimum age you can date someone and it not be weird or creepy. For Vanessa that would technically be 19, but since 18 makes it legal I would say eh close enough.😆 Edit: I forgot this rule only applies if both parties are above the age of 18. I am NOT encouraging anyone to date minors!😆

Reason 4 and 2 are my personal favourites and have been for a long time. Also, Dan Povermire has said something along the lines that arguably there are only two stories in Phineas and Ferb, Candace’s and Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s + Perry’s, this is because (as he said) Phineas and Ferb don’t learn any lessons during the show and a story revolves around change which the “A story” in Phineas and Ferb doesn’t have, unlike the B and C stories.

I would argue Phineas’ edgy personality carried on a little more into season 1 than just the pilot. Sure, it’s lessened, but I can still sense edginess up until the episode where he and Ferb become one hit wonders.

Something i dont think i got as a kid but do get now is in there New Years episode. Doofensmirtz tried to make everybodys new years wish to make him their new leader. It did work, but when no one followed him to town hall to do so, he asked why, and they said "nobody ever follows their new years wish" 😂

How about this: I have realized after not seeing P&F for a while that Doofenshmirtz' inators were always so fantical and magical, while Phineas and Ferbs were more realistic and mature. Like yeah sure a roller coaster is childlike but it still makes sense of how they built it. Whilst on the other hand, Doof's Shrinkspheria was functional, but made no sense at all. We see this time and time again. (I love engineering.)

Another thing: there are no stupid characters (intellectually speaking). Every character in Phineas and Ferb shows at least an average level of intelligence, and of course there are Phineas, Ferb, Baljeet and Dr. Dufenschmirtz, who are pretty smart people, not to mention science, engineering and technology persons.

I was hoping that Milo Murphy's Law was going to fix the age gap. By making Doof into Professor Time in a crossover episode where P&F could show Doof the time machine in the museum and after he reverse engineered it, Vanessa could take the original to the future and be closer in age to Ferb.

Forgot one! How Perry is called differently from every group in the show. You'll never catch Doofenshmirtz just saying Perry. It is always Perry the Platypus. Or major Monogram calling him agent P and nothing else. The Flynn Fletcher family only calling him Perry except once.

Something i came up with as theory and probably just a coincidence is the divorce of doof and his wife. I think doof didnt want to have another child and create a 2nd roger scenario for vanessa so he divorced but acted like they still married (no hate, still visit each other, vanessa still happy). Doof didnt want his daughter to have the same life as his.

For Ferb and Vennessa I never really did ship when Fernando was still a kid but in the final episode when he got grown up I did not know how to feel about it but because he was not a kid anymore and it was like I was mad that they had to ruin finally making Phisabbella happen with that kind of ship at the end, but you know when you think about it when it comes to age diffence there our some of us out there that know we have parents and/or grandparents that have at least a 10 age difference and now days it is like we are just judging by a 3-4 year difference , if our parents and/or grandparents did a 10 year difference why can't we?
