Eric, This is awesome! hank you so much for sharing and most of all CONGRATS on making it to your 63rd National Park. As I have shared with you before I am trying to take my wo daughters to all 63. We just got back from parks #9-12 (Pinnacles, Channel Islands,Joshua Tree and Death Valley). All were amazing. None of us had the desert parks high on our most anticipated list but were blown away by them all. We love ranking and making lists on just about every topic but boy ae we having a tough tome with the NP's. They are all so amazing :) I have a couple of vidoe ideas (no worries if you don't go with them) One would be a list of the best criteria to rank the NP's. After reviewing so many lists I thought it would be neat to compile what ecertone uses to rank their parks. My list currently uses... 1. Scenery, 2.Trails, 3. Wildlife(potential ands seen) 4.Diversity of Exosystems, 5. Visitor Center and 6. Immersiveness (Once in the park do we feel we are just there. Yellowstone is immersive while Redwood you have to drive through communities to get to different units. Mount Rainier is immersive while Olympic you have to travel through Port Angeles a bit to get to different parts etc.) The Second idea would be a list of your most anticiapted parks to REVISIT. Parks that you want to give a second chance for whatever reason and/or parks you just love so much you kave to go back

😂that is so funny because there no street names there to guide you on where to go,it'll be this village and that village. And seeing Eric explaining the directions of how to blunt point takes me back. You'll see someone pulling asking for directions and you'll be like when you get to that green house with a cement fence in front you make a left keep going until you'll a mango tree on your left with probably than go straight til you'll hit the wall...lol

How did you get there? What airline did you take and once there how did you get around? Rent a car? This park looks so beautiful. I have a great love for the South Pacific. Some of the best scenery on the planet. I hope I will be fortunate enough some day to be able to visit this paradise.

Hey, would you happen to know where/who I should reach out to regarding the copyright status of images on displays and signs at US national parks and monuments? I work with some history and archaeology channels on Indigenous and Precolumbian topics and there's some artwork on National Park and National monument displays depicting artistic reconstructions of Cliff Dwellings, towns, and earthen pyramids i'm curious about: As far as I can tell if the NPS itself holds the image rights, the images should be public domain, but i'm wanting to verify that and it's not just the original artist allowing the NPS to use the image while the artist retain the image rights.

Could you tell us if any dangerous wildlife is there? e.g. snakes, sharks. Thanks!
@NationalParkWild
@NationalParkWild Жыл бұрын
I think the only concern would be feral dogs. They may nip at your heels but shouldn’t cause any actual harm. It’s best to try to ignore them.

I just got back from AS. There are no snakes on the island at all and they keep it that way. If you bring a snake onto the island, it's a felony that you can go to prison for. Like @NationalParkWild said, there are a lot of feral dogs, but 99% of them that I encountered were very chill. We didn't see any sharks but there could possibly be some. The crabs might try to claw you if you harass them, but if you just take pictures and move on they'll never bother you. I heard from a local that there is a venomous type of centipede there but I didn't see any myself. Other than the bats and birds mentioned in the video, the only other wildlife I saw was that there were tons of geckos and skinks, but they're totally harmless.

Born and raised in Pago and now I reside in Alabama. Anyways their are no snakes on the island and yes watch out for the dogs like Eric said best to ignore them.

Dont tell ppl to go to cape tapu tapu, its is extremely difficult to get to and can be very dangerous. Also, we have 2 species of flying foxes in American Samoa. One glides more, one flaps more. Those are different species.
