Hair-Raising Hare (1946). Bugs is trying to keep a door closed and keep Gossamer on the other side. He frantically asks "Is there a doctor in the house?" A silhouette of an audience member stands up, "I'm a doctor." Bugs immediately abandons the door and happily asks "What's up, Doc?" It always has me busting a gut laughing that he finally found an in-context moment to say his famous line, and he does it when he's trying to escape his foe.

The ending is great as well. Gossamer finally catches Bugs, but Bugs has one last card to play: Bugs: Wait a second, Dracula! Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched? [...] Look, out there in the audience - " Gossamer: People !?!?!?! AAAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH! Gossamer then leaves dozens of Gossamer sized holes as he runs directly away from the fourth wall.

One of my favorites: Soup or Sonic. After literally decades of utter failure, Wile E. Coyote finally catches the Roadrunner if perhaps the greatest payoff moment in Looney Tunes history. Only problem: running thru a pipe has left the Coyote at a couple inches tall, too small to even wrap his arms around the Roadrunner’s legs. He then turns to the audience, holds up a sign about how everyone always wanted him to catch the Roadrunner, and wonders what he is supposed to do now.

One of the best fourth wallbreaks is when Bugs Bunny is flying a plane. The engine dies and the plane goes into a power dive. Bugs is in a manic panic as the plane heads towards the ground. He grabs a huge lever and pulls hard. Inches before he hits the ground the plane screeches to a stop. Bugs turns to the audience and just says "Airbrakes." "That's All Folks" and the closing music comes on the screen. 😅

7:21 The 1929 pitch pilot for Looney Tunes, Bosko the Talk Ink Kid, was actually the first Looney Tunes short to combine live action and animation. Though the short wasn’t shown to the public until 2000 by Cartoon Network.

Actually the first short series that mixed animation and live action were the Out Of The Inkwell shorts by Max and Dave Fleischer with their first star character Koko the Clown. My favourite 4th wall breaks are in "A Tale of Two Kitties", where Catstello (the chunky cat) is trying to get a baby bird (Tweety) and his partner, Babbitt tells him to give him the bird, so Catstello turns to the audience and says "If the Hayes office would only let me, I'd give 'im the boid alright." And then in the same cartoon he's getting shot at while in the air, and the picture freezes, and he again turns to the audience to ask "Is there an insurance salesman in the house?!"

He says to look out in the audience and Gossimer yells “people!”, screams and runs away through walls. Another is when a scientist was going to do an examination on Bugs in front of a bunch of other avientists. Bugs runs and hides behind a closed door saying “is there a doctor in the house?”. A figure stands up and says “I’m a doctor, and Bugs says his iconic line “eh what’s up doc?”.

After which Bugs would hold up a sign to the audience reading " Silly Isn't He".
