Hollow Mind. It shows how fear, hubris, and bigotry can completely consume ones soul. In the form of Belos/Phillip can let their circumstances and choice to live in ignorance define them. Keep making bad choices by taking the easy way. Until you get to the point where you can so deluded in your own twisted truth. That you are no longer able to recognize the difference between right and wrong. Becoming irredeemable.

When learning the truth about Luz's dad, I had the same reaction as Amity. And the fact that the Azura book was gift from him, made me understand why Luz was so attached to the series and why she would often use escapism to avoid the pains of reality. It also made me see a lot of myself in Luz. The real world is hard, but it's real.

Anxiety is another heavy topic The Owl House covered. In the season 2 episodes “Through the Looking Glass Ruins” and “Labyrinth Runners” we see Gus struggle a lot with personal anxiety that started when he was very young because a partner on a school project tricked him into doing all the work. Thankfully after this he meets Willow while hiding from the bullies and forms a genuine friendship with her.

As a GAD patient, I always feel like people don’t represent us, you can easily think of characters with PTSD, ADHD and etc. but there’s very few characters that have anxiety disorders, and when they do, its always social anxiety. It honestly annoys me how the internet’s definition of anxiety is quite literally “social anxiety”, like there aren’t other types of it

I will forever be greatful for the owl house on a very personal level. My father and i were experiencing a new form of bonding which just so happened to be the owl house, he wasn't a fan of cartoons but this show pulled him in! He wanted to see if king ever gets to find his dad. My dad got to see season 3 episode 1 (the whole halloween special) and ever since that day he'd ask "when is the next episode?" And when i told him idk idk, he waited and lowkey i was always happy to see him so eager 😅 but sadly in mid december he got really sick, he couldn't breath and it got so bad he was hospitalized and on new years (2023) in the ICU he was put into a medical coma and by january 23 my dad was gone 🥺 whilw in the coma i'd talk to him, i'd tell him "you gotta wake up daddy the owl house is coming back! We gotta see if king finds his dad." ... I ended up watching the series finale alone.. the part that hit me the hardest was the reveal and departure of kings dad 😢 in a funny ironic way kings dad looked my dad like dad-bod & personality... so overall the owl house was the last thing my dad and i bonded over and the memories i get to remember because of this show will foever mean the world to me. I've always loved the show for it's characters, story, aversion of common tropes, and LGBTQ representation. But it wasn't until "Thanks to Them" premiered that I was able to connect with it on a personal level. My mom, who I was very close with, passed away a few months before the premiere, in hospital, from a long term condition, just like Luz's dad. Hearing how she and her mom went through similar struggles to me and my dad, and how they pushed forward together, it really helped me move forward too. It showed me how, even after such tragedy, life goes on, and you can still accomplish great things. So thank you, to Dana and her team, for helping me through my darkest hour.

In my opinion, Belos didn't suffer enough. There should have been a scene between him and Caleb kind of like the scene between Ursa and Ozai in the ATLA comics. Also, I think he might not even be dead: notice that King mentions there's still some goo left on his foot after the rain dissipates, and that none of the goo disintegrated into gray dust like the goo encasing the Titan bones did. I even think there are still places they could take Belos's character, Namely: the modern human realm is very different from the human realm he came from, he would probably hate it and become obsessed with changing it back to how it was in his day.
@JaceyChristian Жыл бұрын
While I would have loved a confrontation between Belos and Caleb, the mad monster is dead dead. He was practically a puddle right before Eda, Raine, and King stopped him into oblivion. He was falling apart and could not keep shape anymore thus becoming nothing but sludge as his remains.

I cannot believe how much I can relate with Luz in this show! Thing here is I'm a huge nerd just like her. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog's number one fan and I have a huge heart for almost anything about the made up world. I even love Pokemon, Mario, Disney, Nintendo, and while I do love none cartoon stuff a lot too my heart has always been for the fantasy world. Unlike Luz I've made a bunch of friends in my life but there was always a part of me that felt like a complete outcast on the inside once I started becoming a preteen and an early teenager. It's because it seemed like everyone around me was all about real life stuff or girls just cared about boys, fashion, makeup, or girlie girl things. I had huge fears that I was extremely kiddish for the things that I loved. It wasn't till high school and near the end of 8th grade that I began accepting myself for who I am. :) Even an actual junior named Britney actually thought that I was cool for loving Sonic and Cheetah Girls! :) Then along the way I got a boyfriend named Ryan who is a casual fan of Sonic but he said that one of the reasons why he fell in love with me was because of my happiness and carefree attitude over Sonic. :) So yeah it's like how Luz found people who were like her and her Mom wound up accepting who she really is! I can strongly relate! :) Oh and, fun fact, I met the voice actress behind Luz at a Momocon convention, Sarah, she was extremely nice! :)

Honorable Mentions: *Genocide - Kings Tide -If only the unknowing populous knew what Belos was REALLY planning. The Day of Unity is actually a genocide plan with the intent of eradicating all magic and magic life in the Demon Realm. Luckily, King manages to convince The Collector to stop the draining spell, but that only set up an even greater conflict for the next season. *Toxic Parenting - Various -We already touched on Amity's relationship with her Mother. But that's not Odalia's only sin. How bad can she be? Well... She seperated Amity from lesser witches and surrounds her with only similarly like-minded people like Boscha and children of Blight Industries' business partners so that their mean habits would rub off on her. Additionally, Odalia has Amity wear a telepathy necklace to keep her in line. Given years of Odalia's disposition, even Amity seems to believe this mindset and grows into a talented (albiet arrogant and self-centered) witch. In a way, Odalia is basically molding Amity into the splitting image of herself by raising her the same way she'd train a dog wither Amity liked it or not. Oh, and she also has an iron hold on her husband, Alador, and through Blight Industries, she supplies Emporer Belos with an army of Abomatons with the intent of inflating her own social status. She also intentionally withholds information and important details from her "Family" to make sure things go according to plan. The real kicker, this manipulation has been going on for years, and all for selfish gain. By Clouds On The Horizon, Amity and Alador decide that enough is FINALLY enough. Amity effectively disowns her mother and Alador destroys Blight Industries. *Morality and The Hero Complex - Various -Moraliry is a fascinating subject. What is moral and just changes with the times. What was once considered just another necessity in day to day life back in the day may be considered outlawed in today's society. It's also sometimes said that "every villain is the hero of their own story." And nowhere does something like this fit better than with Philip Wittebane AKA Emporer Belos. It's worth noting that Philip was born around the 1600s, back when Witch Hunting was still a thing. When he found that his brother, Caleb, had befriended a witch, he feels betrayed and blames witches for swaying his brother to their side. As such, he spends over 400 years biding his time so that he can exterminate all witches and return to the human realm a hero, nay, a Witch Hunter General. But to those unfamiliar with the Boiling Isles, Witch Hunting/Trials were something that wouldn't fly not just for modern-day humans, but to the denizens of the Isles. It's almost sad really, back in the 17th century, what he did would have been the stuff of legend, in the 21st century however, he's an ethnic group's worst nightmare! And just as the Titan says, Belos' actions stems from some diluted and confused need to be a hero.

I am still crying that the show ended so shortly. the darkest thing to me was seeing hunter's panic attack after he learned the truth. And ended up running away to hide at Hexside, the one place he felt safe and accepted

I can relate so much to willow it’s actually sad:( I won’t talk about this because well… I don’t think I could. I’m pretty happy that the owl house managed to pull of adding real world issues and still keep the show on the main story. I do wish that Disney figures out that they pissed every one off and one last thing #TheOwlHouse forever ❤

While there’s quite a lot of characters that present PTSD symptoms, Hunter is the only one who checks all the boxes for the diagnose, the only ones he doesn’t show (on screen) are the nightmares and the forgetfulness, but i don’t have those either and I still got mine

I like the season 3 episodes especially when there were getting ready for Halloween! Also I like it when they were solving the mystery of Titans blood! And sometimes I miss going to a haunted house ride! But ever since all the haunted house rides were shut down I had no other way of getting inspirations for Halloween and a year at all! Oh well there's always KZbin cartoon videos about Halloween stuff and Spirit Halloween the costume store and I like to treasure memories from that old movie I used to watch when I was a little girl it was called a Disney Halloween treat! Sometimes I wish I could have a sewing machine so I could make my own Halloween costumes! Unfortunately it would take a lot of practice before I am ready to have my own sewing machine! I'm not sure it's possible but I wish my sister would teach me how to use a sewing machine! I just thought I would make my own designs of costumes dresses and more including purses and some original designs! But at least I could design just by drawing and coloring them! But I'm not just any artist I am a cartoonist! And this year on Halloween 2023 I wanted to be a water fairy but instead I've decided to become a white kitty goddess because I can't find a winter dress in aqua blue or whatever kind of blew that would be I want it in bright blue so I could be a water fairy but then I realize that's just not the case but at least I have a long white dress and a white fluffy sweater to keep me warm and it's a perfect or should I say purr-fect opportunity to be a white kitty goddess with a white wig a white kitty mask with a pink nose and whiskers and I would wear white kitty ears as a headband and I will also wear a white kitty tail but it also comes with a white Kitty collar! And I know I'm going to have the wonderful Halloween even if my mom is already dead since she passed away on Saint Patrick's Day 2023! This is going to be my first Halloween without my mother! As also going to be my first Thanksgiving without my mother and my first Christmas too!😢 But I know my father and I are going to have our own fun even with my older sister perhaps!❤

I feel like Eda’s disability and how it affects her relationship with her mom should’ve been on here.
@matthewkincanon9674 Жыл бұрын
To go with #3, mental illness and disorders are other issues addressed in the show through Eda's curse. She has no control over it, has to take elixirs to keep it at bay, and her mom fully dedicated herself to find a cure. In "Knockin on Hooty's Door" Eda comes to terms with her curse. Another issue the show addressed is suicide in "Eda's Requiem" where Eda is about to end her life because she feels Luz and King no longer need her. But those feelings changed when King became a Clawthorne.

And they touched on how a parent can become so wrapped up in finding a way to help cure one of their children's illness (while Gwendolyn ignored how Eda found a way to make it manageable), the parent can often overlook the needs of their other children. Gwen was regularly visiting Eda with her latest possible cure, but apparently rarely saw or possibly even spoke to Lilith. She was so focused on Eda that she didn't even know that Lilith had taken on the curse (I wonder if Gwen even knew that Lilith was the one to curse Eda) until Lilith had transformed because she wasn't paying attention to her.

They didn't mention Luz having to deal with judgement of peers and adults. Her mom understood, but people around her, including Luz's principal made her feel like she was failing Luz by not trying to change her.

I don't blame Luz for losing her father it's just like when I lost my mother when she passed away because of her cancer probably! But out of most of the characters I like Amity because her mother was bad influence on her also her Palisman or however you spelled it was a cat named Ghost and I am glad that Amity is a cat person or witch girl?
