Oh wow, you were right one time when you said there's always things to learn in Scum that we may not have known lol. I usually kill and chop up 3 puppets to be able to craft the bigger backpack and quiver but I had thought using low durability rags from puppets would craft a semi-useless backpack. Knowing I can cut up the crap rags from puppets when collecting their skin and bone needles, that will definitely make the process on a new character much faster. Some people may not know but those bigger crafted backpacks are actually very good if you need to conserve space because those backpacks take up very little inventory space but hold way more compared to the other similar sized backpacks. On a new character those can be useful for packing more loot into 1 chest to bury until getting established with some sort of base. Taking your time also helps level up stealth which can make it easier to not alert mechs and puppets which would be helpful to people. Most things we do in life literally is time wasted but we all need some entertainment in life, might as well let that entertainment be a game like Scum. Also there's really no reason to ever be in a hurry in Scum since there's really no beginning or end game. People should enjoy the journey to getting that nice base built, getting loot one might want, etc because once you get everything then it's more difficult to find that extra enjoyment if the game becomes too easy. Even on 10x puppet spawns, if you had 50 guns with loads of ammo to choose from then hordes would be somewhat of an afterthought. Hopefully the devs will at least have the puppet system fixed by time they eventually drop the 1.0 release. I remember one time, a different streamer and someone, were at a gas station and within a second or two of stopping a beeper spawned right by them and well you know how that went lol. On top of dying, gear usually gets trashed beyond repair. The mechs seem to be pretty solid so if the puppet spawning and puppet clipping through everything is fixed, I think Scum will be more appealing to more players.

If you want to passively upgrade your camouflage and stealth, lay down in a safe zone and find a tree with a trunk that has a bit of a U shape or a rock you can keep crawling into while staying still. Put a popsicle stick to push your W key down on your keyboard so it auto runs while you’re not there. It took a few hours to get from No Skill to 25% past basic. No skill to 60% over basic for camouflage and I didn’t do anything. You need to check in on your character regularly as zombies can get you in regular zones and your gloves are going to decay so buy a few from the trader.

Some other options: max stealth makes it so its very hard to agro/spawn zombois Max survival gives you more resources from trees/rocks etc and reduces how many materials you need to craft your basic tools/weapons

some good points but I wouldn't go max theivery unless planning to raid, it gives more time etc on gold locks for say a car you came across, but what about stealth? For example about time costs. Im a low stealth player in a Police station, the pups spawn around me outside, I start picking locks and they hear me, I either vault out and try to deal with them as fast as possible (after killing they will be back in about 30 seconds and hear me lockpicking again and aggro, repeat) or I keep lockpicking till they trigger a hoard then deal with that. I ended up making an advanced stealth character and for the most part, they ignored my looting sounds for outside the walls. Which was a huge time saver. Also can I ask about endurance? What is the point of it? you can run longer, but does stamina return faster too when prone or no? And, My Character dropped to 2.9after just playing a while and doing things like getting up for a drink or snack or going to toilet while being prone in a bush. This is silly. Seems to suggest if and athlete rests after running 40 km, they will begin to lose endurance immediately. its literally bleeding out in front of eyes unless constantly moving. There is a lot of managing storage, and other things as I mention irl where you might not be moving much but dont want to log out.. Actions like digging up a chest, use stamina, but your endurance is in the red because "you are not moving across the map". Thats very poor design and should be fixed, I have bought it up before to devs. Dig holes all day and you will be able to do it for longer than someone that does not.. that the definition of endurance.

Thievery takes skill and a ton of time to level up where with stealth you can just crawl or crouch walk in grass to level it up so very player friendly. Endurance only lets you regain your stamina faster.

There is a hundred combinations bud and if you enter the code wrong twice and then leave the trader they have 1 % chance to guess it and if you never want to lose your money use a silver and destroy it every time you leave trader and get your gas at the trader

also crafting 100% backpack from bad rags and cut it back to rags will get you good rags, but that's more of an exploit lol boot camp in B3 has 4 dorms as well, but I hate that place

I understand why you prefer ADV thievery over ADV Stealth... but is Stealth this easy to level up ? I'm hesitating, I won't lockpick much and certainly rely more on stealth for my playstyle but if the skill takes only a few hours to get to from 0 to MED or ADV...

I think thievery also effects the locks you place yourself. I.e. even if you place a golden lock but your thievery is low it will be easier to break it for someone else. (I think)

No it won't. Bronze easy, Silver hard, Gold very hard. BCU lock impossible unless they kill you and take your BCU lock and Dial Lock uses Fame and takes time

Crafting backpacks (or quivers) used to always create 100% items, then they changed and it created lower durability and now you say it is back to 100% again? Would be cool if they finally stop with hidden changes. And barracks/ sleeping quarters - I get you went there for loot space, but with number od beds there, you have good chance foe cash from them.

I will never waste 30 minutes of my real time to cook anything in a game. That is a stupid element they created to waste more time. Its bad enough they make you sleep for long periods of time instead of finding or making a bed like any normal thoughtful game that doesnt waste every players time.

Yeah I agree. I started playing again last week with a friend not super motivated. He was too focused on cooking (god knows why...). The timer immediately killed his motivation. He stopped. He thinks now all the game is stupidly the same...

The biggest tip is don't play it why spend 1000 hours to get loot and build a simple base for some no lifer to offline raid and wipe everything as soon as you log offline. Pointless playing at all anymore.

The thing is not about creating the best OP base. It's about building it (or just placing chests) in a place nobody will look. It's all about discretion. Same strat can be applied to other games like Rust (faking a decayed base to avoid raiders... stuff like that). You can brain raiders. Not working against cheaters sadly or admin abuse (same thing). On PvP servers I play alone and don't waste time building much. Just some very well hidden chest to gear up or save valuables and hunting ppl rest of the time. You don't need much to enjoy the game and killing ppl.
