There is an even sadder Golden Girls moment. In the flashback episode where Rose is talking to her deceased husband, Charlie, she begins to speak from the heart and her voice breaks when she says "I love you charlie, I miss you" she was actually speaking to her real life husband Al Ludden who had passed away as well. I watched a documentary where that was shared and from that point on, I've never been able to watch that scene the same way. My heart breaks right along with her
