I think the Realms were originally the FILA boot. Looked terrible but apparently skated well. Can’t believe the psirus didn’t make the list. That thing looked like what a 9 year old would draw up as part of his space suit. Not to mention the soul plates being made of porcelain.

So, I live in Ecuador, and getting new skates down here is almost impossible. I had those same Razors SL Yuri pros that I kept riding and held together with baling wire because they were quite literally the ONLY skates available to me. I rode them for like 4 years. If you thought the leather bits looked like Leatherface, wait until you had a pair where 90% of the leather had been ripped off except random patches after years of abuse. That is truly scary.

excellent choices! i had the bauer respects, mainly because I wanted to skate like Rich Taylor, it didn't work. I did enjoy skating them though, although they genuinely did melt next to the radiator! I had Roadhouse's deshis in that style of deshi too, I could barely skate them they were so heavy

I had both bauers this one and the one before it that looked like a hockey skate. The frames were so hard i had trouble getting a starter groove using a hacksaw. Super flex and one of the most comfortable skates I had. If they came with a bigger groove from the get go, those skates would've sold much better.

I see everyone is trying to defend the Realms. I thought they were trash. Wheels exploded within a week. The stitching in the cuff came undone after about a year. I get they're cheap introductory skates, but I didn't care for them. I suggest the Anarchy Revos to people who are interested in trying aggressive. The stitched cuff still baffles me, every skate has a cuff bolt, seems there's a reason.

I think we should bring back cool skate design ideas in general like gawds & deshi had. Most skate brands are pumping out the same basic boot designs every year with minor color variations. While it is great that the quality of skate these days overall has improved We need more innovation in style.

The new Enin's are pretty bad, but honestly Xsjado's in general are some of the worst looking skates ever imo. I also happen to mildly like the Legacy's - wouldn't call them attractive by any means, but I don't hate the way they look. Personally, the new brown and cream Braindead 909's take the cake for ugliest modern pair of skates. I've liked most of Them's more experimental stylings, but those are horrid. The powder blue color doesn't even match at all. That and the engraving on the Wizard versions? Yuck.

I see what you mean about the Enin's but I still really like them. Always had a big soft spot for Xsjado's, they're like home to me. Anarchy had a worse skate than that called the Chaos! It was fucking massive. Loads of people had it at the local too. Nauseating. And also someone online had described the skinned Them 908 as an orthopaedic shoe and unfortunately I think they got it spot on. Wasn't Them's finest hour, that.
