She’s just a great actress she was overlooked for too long
@beatnikrn29455 жыл бұрын
There are downsides of peaking too young. Look at Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, etc. No one paid any attention to that old lady from “Titanic” until she threw that damn necklace in the water. We should be thinking “who is out there now slowly making a name for themselves?” Viola Davis, and many performers who find fame later in life, are usually the best at what they do because they have worked very hard for it. And success is easier to enjoy when you are mature. I think early success for some people can be hard to handle. If I were an actress, I would want to have a career like Ms. Davis.

And that is an underated comment. I love HTGAWM, for so many reasons (on my 4th binge watch after only watching it a few months ago!), but it was luke she was made for that role...or the other way round, although we know she wasn't first choice. It's a dark show to begin with, and with many controversial themes, and the casting was brilliant throughout, but nobody imho could have played that role. Her final speech to the jury...i think was a tribute to the actress herself and who she is as a person-deeply flawed, but always trying to get away from trouble (in AK personal life), but you couldn't help but feel the gravitas and power she bought to tjat scene which mirrors Viola Davis's, own eloquence, her strength, the escape from childhood poverty...and her beauty. Inside and out. And i loved that she was able to play along with her inspiration, Cicely Tyson RIP. Those scenes together, were mesmerising. And i am still singing that bloody turkey song!
