We need a really good series on The Plantagenets....The White Queen was great but I would love to see a bit more of Richard Duke of York and how he triggered the War of the Roses!
@ΣτεφανοςΝικου3 ай бұрын
Exactly!!! They could make a much bigger serie if they want. This era has really a lot of things to explore. Richard Duke of York , Edward of Lancaster, Cecily Neville and the most important Margaret of Anjou are character who can give a lot in a TV show.

Why doesn't anyone consider writing a 3 season tv show about Kadesh? This would be set in about 3450 BC when the Hittite empire fought the earliest recognized and documented battle against Egypt. The city they fought over was Kadesh, lying between Egypt and Hittite country, both claiming Kadesh as their own. Just imagine a before the war, the war and then after the war told from 3 sides, the Egyptians, the Hittites and the Kadeshians. Would someone just please consider this?
@HistorySpark7 ай бұрын
It is a very interesting premise but I think a show like that would require a huge budget and I don't think most casual and mainstream audiences probably don't have much interest about the history of Kadesh. But I definitely think a show set in Ancient Egypt would probably do well

When I saw the trailer I thought it was Jason Momoa in Frontier, I thought you were going to say it’s been renewed. But obviously not. Though the Chief of War looks good.

I think frontier is done after season 3, it never really took off like Netflix wanted to i guess. But yes Cheif of War sounds like it will be really good, a new premise i havent seen in a tv series yet

I wonder why no one has considered writing a 4 or 5 season show about Tillie Pierce and the settings would be the late 1840s all the way up to 1914 and that’s timespan and locations would be Gettysburg, Selinsgrove and Philadelphia Pennsylvania and the series would be called At Gettysburg the story of Tillie pierce and the show would be a true story based on Tillie pierces best selling and only book At Gettysburg or What a girl saw and heard of the battle and the book is an autobiography, account of how Tillie Pierce witnessed the battle of Gettysburg however the show would show some things that aren’t in the book like the fighting for the wheat field, The fighting on the left slope of little round top, the fighting for the peach orchard and the fighting on cemetery ridge on the second day of the battle of Gettysburg and a majority of the show would be filmed on the Gettysburg Battlefield however there are a lot of scenes that require a set to be built and this set would represent my 4th great grandparents house which is still standing but people live in it and the house has changed a lot since the battle of Gettysburg but the show would also show some stuff that might be scary for people like Piles of arms and legs, union officers whipping union soldiers and Union soldiers threatening civilians and lying to civilians and the show would have a lot of things in it like drama, comedy, Action and adventure and to give you an insight into the book I will say my two favorite paragraphs in the book and the first one starts in the evening of the second day and ends when the author goes to bed the second one begins and ends in the morning of the third day and the lines go like this” One soldier, sitting near the doorway that led into a little room in the southeast corner of the basement, beckoned me to him. He was holding a lighted candle in his hand, and was watching over a wounded soldier who was lying upon the floor. He asked me if I could get him a piece of bread, saying he was very hungry. I said certainly, ran away and soon returned. I gave him the bread and he seemed very thankful. He then asked me if I would hold the light and stay with the wounded man until he came back. I said I would gladly do so, and that I wanted to do something for the poor soldiers if I only knew what. I then took the candle and sat down beside the wounded man. I talked to him and asked if he was injured badly. He answered:” Yes, pretty badly.” I then asked him if he suffered much, to which he replied:” Yes I do now, but I hope in the morning I will be better.” I told him if there was anything I could do for him I would be so glad to do it, if he would only tell me what. The poor man looked so earnestly into my face, saying:” Will you promise me to come back in the morning to see me.” I replied:” Yes indeed.” And he seemed so satisfied, and faintly smiled. The man who had been watching him now returned, and thanked me for my kindness. I gave him the light and arose to leave. The poor wounded soldier’s eyes followed me, and the last words he said to me were:” Now don’t forget your promise.” I replied:” No indeed,” and expressing the hope that he would be better in the morning, bade him good night. The sun was high in the heavens when I awoke the next day. The first thought that came into my mind, was my promise of the night before. I hastened down to the little basement room, and as I entered, the soldier lay there-dead. His faithful attendant was still at his side. I had kept my promise, but he was not there to greet me. I hope he greeted nearer and dearer faces than that of the unknown little girl on the battlefield of Gettysburg. As I stood there gazing in sadness at the prostrate form, the attendant looked up to me and asked:” Do you know who this is?” I replied:” No sir.” He said:” This is the body of General Weed; a New York man.”

This is super! LUV historical dramas. You forgot "Kurulus Osman" coming out of Turkey. MAGNIFICENT!!! We need a new Shahjahan series (film 2001). Why do your only feature men? No women?? Even "Shogun" you barely show the female star. Add "Kurulus Osman." It is spectacular!! The fight scenes are mind-blowing. Thanks!

House of Ashur, in Rome??? This is ludicrous, for Ashur (Aššur) was the supreme god, the name of the nation, and the first Assyrian capital city Aššur. Aššur is 100% Ancient Mesopotamian and it was (unfortunately) obliterated by the Medes, the Elamites, and the Babylonians between 612 and 609 BCE.

Spartacus wasnt a very historically accurate show and it over did alot of the adult content but the storytelling, character development and dialogue is amongst the best i have ever seen amongst any television series. The first 3 or 4 episodes are not great but the producer changes after that and u can really see a marked improvement across the entire series

@@HistorySpark : in comparison the hbo & BBC show ROME....was more historically acurate but low viewing figures and quite boring, its sluggish snail pace, even of major figures like julius ceasear, octavian etc.. remember most americans are prudish were it comes to nudity , most europeans are def not.... roman republic was pre christian era and the adult content may seem extreme, but in reality the arena, roman society was brutal, prob a lot less so than the average usa crime show... like narcos etc...
