We've all taken in our opinions and came up with a list of these bands which we think are going to take off with their talents musically as well as their sheering screams! Gonna say right off the bat, don't hate just because I have an opinion Am I the only one that thinks almost all of these new "hardcore" bands sound so over produced in the studio. So much auto tune, drum sampling, too much chorus effects on the both the clean and screaming vocals. It seems like all they do these days is record mediocre performances and then produce the shit out of it. All the new bands have this same polished and produced sound to them, not to mention a lot of them use that same "djent" open and first fret E string riff, making them sound even more similar. What the fuck happened to the real and raw sound? What happened to the time when bands didn't need a shit ton of post production mixing because they were all crazy talented?

Topkek Yeah man, literally the only super talented hardcore bands that I know of are the old school ones. For example System of a Down and Slipknot. Then there's the old school hardcore punk bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat and Rise Against (early albums though). All those groups are either getting old or are already past their time, which is why I'm searching for new shit that's decent. I've had no luck finding official bands. But I did find a youtube channel by the name of "amnaeon IV". It's one guy who makes his own music, and he's fucking brilliant, it's worth checking out. His music is definitely heavy, but combines a whole lot of elements from other genres, making for a super unique sound. No auto tune either.

Amen, brother (perhaps sister?). I came here for bands like the old Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying... You get the point. I was really let down that the bands I mentioned are lumped into the whole "metalcore" genre because they sure as hell beat the snot musically out of these wimps. Just because it's heavier than pop doesn't make it metal.

I think all that remains still has some decent songs. They aren't as hard as they used to be, but they make up for it with some sweet guitar solos.

Cameron Zolikoff That's very true -- AWYCW wasn't their best stuff, just like Atlas wasn't Parkway's best, Killswitch's self-titled wasn't as great as it could be (Howard will forever be the face of KsE to me) and so on... As for Mountain Jew, I've really come to enjoy a select few bands from the last few years. Not metal by any means, but Egypt Central, 10 Years, Sick Puppies, Four Year Strong, and even Avenged Sevenfold (Nowhere near their Rev years, but I've enjoyed a song or two off Hail to the King and Nightmare) have consistently put out some solid works in Hard Rock. Look into Steve Terryberry's channel; he takes some generic, less-than-stellar songs and adds some cool lead riffs of his own. Also, if you're into heavier shit, check out Whitechapel's self-titled and A New Era of Corruption albums. \m/

These bands would sound solid if almost EVERY SONG didn't have a poppy, electronic chorus. I really hate this new "Pop-core". I miss the days of thrashy, beatdown, breakdown crazy, solo filled metal bands. I didn't want Justin Beiber and Justin Timberlake to make an influence into metal.

Not at all, but I dislike girly cleans. Most new metalcore/post-hardcore bands have clean vocalists who are either auto tuned or sound like Sleeping With Sirens. Cleans should rarely be used by Metalcore bands, not in damn near every song.

Telbun AKA Left Shark Well, many metalcore bands use unautotuned clean vocals that aren't ridiculously high. Just listen to Miss May I, As Clarity Falls or even Attack Attack! on their third album. August Burns Red also did two songs with clean vocals (Indonesia and Ghosts).

I know, but with auto tuning I don't like when it sounds awful. I know it's a common editing tool. I like Miss May I, not so much Attack Attack!, and ABR is great.

It's Post hardcore, metal metalcore and deathcore are all different forms but to a certain extent of similarities. metal and deathcore etc are like more hardcore deeper voice focused songs. Post hardcore doesn't focus on just screaming or deep voice singing and has more meaningful parts in the song. :)

Just sounds like crappy hardcore mixed with EDM, autotuned cleans/feminine vocalist, and shitty screams. If you want to hear a band bettter than all of those just go listen to ERRA. Trust, I know the difference between metalcore deathcore hardcore etc haha but this is just wrong to call it metal. Its simply the worst "heavy" music ive ever heard. In 5 years your going to look back and ask yourself how your ears didnt run away from you. (:

I wish people would stop comparing everything to a single band. Each band has their own style and uniqueness. Please don't complain about EDM because that's a high trend right now and if you don't like it don't complain just fucking get the fuck out and quit hating.
