I'm days away from launching my own drop shipping business. It's a fully registered business with a website and everything, I'm very excited to get it going. All done within about 3 weeks of work: 1 week researching and finding good products/suppliers, 2 weeks setting up everything for the business. It's very achievable by anyone if you can commit a few hours a day for a month or so to get it all going. Once I have that going, I'm definitely going to look into setting up more "passive" income streams. I just hope it all turns out well! Good luck to anyone else starting up too.

All these complaints that "these aren't passive." Did you expect him to say just hold your breath and you'll start making money? Anything you do will require some form of up-front effort; but if you can spend 5-10-20 hours of work over a day or two and then get paid for that over the course of a year or longer, that's pretty damn passive. Anyway, this entire genre of videos is targeted to the sucker. Pro Tip: You're sitting there being lazy trying to learn to make money without working for it. See the guy in the video? HE'S MAKING "PASSIVE" INCOME OFF OF YOU AS YOU WATCH THIS. You think this video took more than an hour to shoot/edit/upload?

Actually, hes getting no money from me, I stoped the vid when i opened it, and use adblocker. Clicks dont make money anymore. As for the word "Passive income" If you havent learned it yet in the span of 1 year. Passive income is something like **Rent** If you have a house and you're renting it out, you are getting passive income. It means " income (in which the earner does not take an active part)" And reading trough the comments, What he is giving advice on, is not passive income.

i have tried some of these and would like to point out 1) teach online courses = not a passive income source (you have to actively make courses) 2) sell ebooks on amazon = needs to have a solid differentiating factor to sell well, not just because everyone s doing it 3) make youtube videos = not a passive income source once again (you have to actively make content) 4) product affiliate = the first source for passive income 5) invest = second source of passive income 6) website ads = not a profitable model anymore given everyone has ad blockers 7) app creation = too saturated now 8) rental properties = good if you have something to rent :P 9) tshirt selling = i guess teespring would do this far better than anything else

Passive income is what you earn without spending any time or energy. So interest and dividends would be considered passive income, but all the other ones listed are not. But they are a nice way to make a little extra money on the side.

it really depends on your definition of passive income. passive income to most is income from a product/service/asset that you create once then don't have to trade your time for later.

@ericd44018 жыл бұрын
Betty-Alexandria Pride Passive income includes things like interest and dividends, rental income and things like that. Money earned from a website is another example as long as it doesn't have to be monitored. Generally, passive income earns you money whether you do anything or not. Everyone should be investing part of their income into things that produce passive income, so when they retire they can live on it.

Most people's comments here seem to imply that passive income does not require work while other's are arguing about the correct definition of passive. IMO, writing an eBook and selling it online or teaching online courses are passive because you leverage digital products. Ebooks don't require too much work once they're published and can be duplicated and sold infinitely. In the same manner, online courses/videos is like cloning yourself, thus a network of products that work and make money for you without you having to be physically there. Thanks btw for creating this video.

$18 in 9 months... Now what you need to do is calculate how much time you have spent on this and divide the $18 by the number of hours involved. Let's say that you have spent only 50 hours on your "online venture"... That means that $18 divided by 50 hours = 36 cents per hour. Stacking supermarket shelves will earn you about $9 per hour, meaning that had you spent this 50 hours stacking supermarket shelves, you would have made 25 times more money.... ($450 vs $18).

@VideoSchoolOnline8 жыл бұрын
Yes, everything takes work to set up and make money passively. There's no 'secret' way to make passive income without working. But these can and do turn into passive income if you want them to. For example, I have online courses that I created back in 2012 that still make money. I don't do any work for those courses. I also have my investments. I don't do any work for those now, they just sit in index funds and make money. I also wrote a few ebooks a couple years ago. I don't promote them anymore, but they still make money while I sleep. I'd call that passive. But the truth is that you can't make passive income without working first.

As an app developer myself, I can tell you making money from applications is not easy. Having the concept is the smallest part of the project. Everything thinks they have a "great concept." (Most of these ideas are failures.) And of course, finding someone to write your app is not cheap. Will you write your app for all platforms (iOS, Windows Phone, Android, etc)? Will there be a web component? More expense and expertise will be required, as you build your concept. Calling this "passive" income is correct, I suppose. After you've decided a few thousand hours of your life to it. Oh, and don't forget about maintenance. People are going to be asking for changes and improvements, so you'll need to either be a developer or have access to a developer (who will charge you a significant amount). Oh top of all this... the app will very likely not bring in a lot of profit. Hopefully, with a successful app, it will at least pay for itself eventually.
@TreesOnTheBeach8 жыл бұрын
Brucifer I'm speaking from the perspective of the guy that made this video, or anyone who is looking for passive income. It's not passive when you spend a year or two writing an app, then support it for the next x number of years. As an app developer, I can do that, but it's not passive income when you develop an app.
@a.Bader978 жыл бұрын
Yeah but thanks to globalisation you can hire app developers for cheap from places like india. as long as the concept of the app is enticing, but yet simple it will attract users and minimise costs due to it's simplicity. Or am i wrong?
@TreesOnTheBeach8 жыл бұрын
"So where are you going?" (chapter 81 verse 26) Yeah, you can get them pretty cheap. I have used Freelancer.com and other sites to get cheap labor, but outsourcing has problems of its own. Communication, quality of work are two that come to mind immediately. And while the labor is cheaper, it's not necessarily cheap. Most of the developers that I used to get for $5 an hour are up to $20 an hour. And when they spend months writing an app at $20/hour, the project can go into the thousands. And after all is said and done, and you've published the app in the Store or App Market, then will you even get customers? Everyone expects an app to be free. Nobody wants to pay. I can see why someone would call an app "passive income"... it certainly can be, after you've used a year of your life OR put a lot of money into paying someone to write an app. But even then, you've got to hit a target market with a great product. To be blunt, there are lots of dreamers out there thinking they've got a great idea for an app. The idea is probably not great or even original, and the person probably has no skills to make it happen anyway. Maybe they've got the money to burn to have someone else write it. Maybe. For every Angry Birds, there are 10000 failed apps.

unable to understand drop shipping... can you explain more?
@zdrux8 жыл бұрын
People order from you, and you have a distribution company send the actual product on your behalf from their warehouse. You don't keep any actual stock, you're just a reseller.

John Eden Look for online drop shippers, and setup an account with them. Find out what products they have for shipping, then post ads on ebay/craigslist/etc.. When your customer gives you their address, you go to the website and make a shipment to that address.
@shitmandood7 жыл бұрын
If you have to enter in the customer's address from the website, then it isn't passive. Now we're down to 8 things & 2 things that don't fit passive income.

Hi Video School Online, I'm currently working from home. I'm a good Recruiter and prior to starting my own freelance Recruitment Service, I used to work for an UK-based International Recruitment Firm which I enjoyed until Brexit happened and things changed. Firstly, good tips on how to make more income. I'm interested in expanding my own brand and also Recruitment. I forgot to mentioned that I was a regional trainer in my previous company as well. Do you think that I'd be able to convey, teach people to do recruitment as I have the knowledge and also experience in the field. How can I do this and make more money as I go? Thank you so much. Regards, Valerie Atkinson

Most of these were not "passive" income. Passive means you don't really have to do anything.
@rebeccasuraci76668 жыл бұрын
maybe he means that.. some of them are one and done. put in effort for a brief stint then continue to profit -if even just marginally- for a long time.
@InItForTheParking8 жыл бұрын
Rebecca Suraci Even if that is what he meant, that still isn't passive. The only passive income he mentioned was investing. Other examples would be things like P2P Loans, using cash back/rewards cards in place of your usual cards, using referral sites to do your online shopping, business silent partnerships, etc etc etc
@VideoSchoolOnline8 жыл бұрын
I don't believe there's anything that is completely passive. I believe passive income is building something today that will pay you back in the future without working.

@galh18 жыл бұрын
I think you took the phrase "passive income" too literaly. Why would anyone pay you for being passive (or in other words, doing nothing)? Obviously you have to do something to have some kind of value.

forex trading seems difficult yet very lucrative, i don't want to start trading without much trading experience.
@eltonjonathan6704 жыл бұрын
Yes it's lucrative, i make about $24,000 a month from forex, it gets higher than that sometimes and the most important thing is I don't trade by myself, the market analysis, trend reading, stragies as well can be very dicey, so i trade with the help of a more experienced trader who handles most of the work for me and he's getting me good results for the past 8 months now.
@charlotteroy18514 жыл бұрын
Let's say you trade with the help of a professional trader?
@eltonjonathan6704 жыл бұрын
Yes it's much easier for me that way and it allows me take care of other things which requires my attention, forex has been a life changing things for me ever since i came across my forex account manager, he has done so much to fully earn my trust. His experience and knowledge of the market is outstanding.

+andre maraoui it's not passive up front (but nothing truly is). But now I have online courses that I've put up years ago still bringing in revenue with absolutely no work. Some classes aren't as passive (with questions and updates needed), but others are.

This was a great sort of 'brainstorming' type of tutorial that generated several ideas in my mind, of how I could go about putting something together to start to dabble in 'passive income'. While I don't exactly know how to do each one in a step by step fashion, I did pluck a few of these ideas out that sounded like a good fit for me, and I will do more research to further explore putting them into action. Thank you!
