I agree with most of your recommendations, WA is such a beautiful place and it's massive. I would take note while shark bay is good it can be a tourist trap.I found the help at the info centre below par, i.e all they wanted to do is sell us tickets to monkey mia(a major tourist trap). Exmouth is an amazing place and is no secret, in the winter of 2021 we could not get accommodation(caravan park) anywhere near the place. We had to stay 150km out of Exmouth. Not complaining we knew it would be busy, but make sure you book months ahead as you will not find a place to stay(winter peak time). Once Australia opens up and the locals all piss off to Bali we will visit again!..hehehehehe.....

Super helpful comment, thanks Michael!! Comment pinned 📍 😉 Maybe we should have put Margaret River region over Shark Bay? I think you’re right about all the locals seeing Australia for once, since they couldn’t go anywhere else! A lot will return to Bali but I also think that a lot have realised just how beautiful of a country Australia is!

Fantastic job guys. I'm a West Aussie, and am super impressed with your video. Qokka's used to be thick on the mainland from Geraldton to Esperance, but were thought extinct from the mainland after the feral cats and foxes decimated them. It just so happens that a small group of Qokka's were found just a few years ago on the mainland, and are being protected inside a cat/fox proof area. It would be just awesome if they could repopulate the mainland again, but until people start being responsible for their cats, and the foxes are sorted out, they don't stand a chance. So lovely to see tourists appreciate what we have here. I lived in Esperance for years, and it's WA's best kept secret, people go to Espy at the wrong time of year (spring summer) when it's blowing a gale day and night. Best months to visit Espy is end of Feb / March /April to mid may (mid may the cold antarctic blasts start coming up). Surprised you didn't add pics or mention the exact replica of Stone Henge, on the outskirts of town. You guys are a younger generation, but one thing you did miss was The Swan Valley region (wineries galore, margaret river chocolate factory, fancy restaurants, aboriginal arts and museum, Spring in the Valley festival, cheese makers, The Caversham Wildlife sanctuary)....Then you missed Karijini national park up north, ashame coz you went up to Argyle, so you were in the area, only a few hundred kms away lol

There’s just so much to see!! Western Australia really does have it all. Thanks for your lovely comments Roslyn. We did want to visit Karijini but we had a flat tyre and had to head to Perth without a spare, hence why we stuck to the sealed roads! We would love there to be more quokkas around too, that would make the world a better place 100% 😂

@@cjexplores Yes we're extremely lucky to have a backyard like ours. We're bought up to have connection and respect to our land, which is one thing I'm extremely proud of here in WA - the fact that the public have insisted our coast line be carefully managed, so it's not bombarded and destroyed by unknowing tourists, who are totally oblivious to the fragility of ancient sites. A few years back the American's wanted Aus to build an international airport in the Kimberley's, so the fat cats could build massive resorts here. Believe me when I say, you've never heard West Aussies scream, jump up n down, chained ourselves to govt cars. Its bad enough that there are so many mines up there, let alone resorts, hotels etc, the outback would be destroyed and gone from this earth forever if that had happened, and us West Aussies aren't about to let that happen EVER. So far I think we've done an awesome job finding middle ground - having infrastructure to accommodate visitors, so they have access, without having to be invasive and eventually destroy/pollute the area's, and without it looking ugly and destroying the beauty. The Pemberton Tree walk down south, and the jewel caves around Busselton are prime examples of that. Until specialised infrastructure is designed and put in place, our state government weren't show casing them to the world, or allowing those places in magazines etc, to keep people away until we could make sure the area is preserved. I lived in Esperance for years, and was part of the tree warriors campaign to help replant Cape Le Grand after massive bushfires swept through in 2015, and moved up to Mandurah 2016, so it was truly lovely for me to see your photography over the area, and see all the regrowth. It will all still be here in years to come, if you ever decide to return, I can assure you. Peace and hugs from WA

@@roslynjonsson2383 wow! That’s truly incredible that the people of WA had the foresight to protest against those proposed plans! Good on you for doing your part too. And spreading the message through mediums like this only encourage people to do their bit. Another great vlog Cory & Char. Your videography is great, your both so down to earth when you talk to the camera. WA looks awesome and there is so much to see and do but based on your #1 recommendation, Exmouth has now been added to my itinerary to visit when I go to Perth. I had planned on the whale shark swim but i can clearly see there is more that just that one thing do in Exmouth so I will extend my stay. Love your video, lots of recommendations that are unique and not in every other travel video! Have you been to Karijini? Western Australia is on top of my bucket list, I´ve even worked near esperance during my gap year, but I somehow missed out on everything north of Perth.. Btw those drone shots are amazing, were they really taken with the Mavic mini? How do you like the Mavic Mini for photography (if you use it for that aswell)?
@cjexplores
@cjexplores Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for your message 😁🙏🏼 we didn’t make it to Karijini, if you watch our big lap series you’ll see we had a flat tyre and we’re travelling without a spare for most of the west coast! North of Perth is 100% worth it. You should make the effort if you have time! Winter is best I hear, and you can catch the whale shark migration at Ningaloo at certain times of year. Thanks, yes those were all on the Mavic Mini. The original one. We have since upgraded but it’s still a great cheap drone for travel. The Mini 2 does the same thing but in a higher resolution 😉 the Mini series aren’t the best for photography however (if you’re serious about it) but good enough for holiday snaps 😉

Hello you two Super video, you did a great job. After we have explored the West (Monkey Mia - Esperance) and the Great Ocean Road for a total of 10 weeks in 2022/2023, we are already planning the next trip in 2024 from Exmouth to Broome. I am currently compiling a small video. I really like your markings, for example in minute 00:46, 2:14 (...). How did you do that and what tool did you use to create it? I used Travel Boast as you already told to others, but it doesn't seem to come out as well on my mobile as it does on yours ;-) I'm an absolute layman and would be happy for a little advice :-) Many greetings from ZRH, Reto

The east coast is so much better than the west coast. Not just because that's my personal opinion. No no no, because of it's diversity. We have mountains, high country, snow, better beaches, absolutely beautiful rain forests, rich & fertile farming land in which all types of fruit and vegetables absolutely thrive. We also have desert, semi arid, sub tropical, not to mention many beautiful cities. I could go on all day. What does WA really offer? Because of the mining industry, Perth is a very expensive city. And as far as I know, it's the only city in WA... Margaret River is a very very poor man's Byron bay. Some of the WA beaches are very nice, admittedly, but even when the Dutch discovered WA, they left the place in discuss. Named it rat nest island. They said that the whole place was a Barron land scape whereby the trees bore no fruit, and basically it was a hostile environment that was uninhabitable... WA has nothing on NSW or QLD!

Glad to hear your passionate opinions Kain. We do love the East Coast as well. We lived there for years, based in Brisbane actually. But you can’t deny that the barrenness of WA adds to its allure. For us we travelled through QLD - NT - WA and then when we arrived at the coast we were just blown away. Like seeing an oasis in the desert 🤩 it’s not a competition though, we see the beauty and benefits of both coasts 😁

Kimi, sounds like you're talking about Pink Lake in Esperance - I lived around the corner of it for years. The Pink Lake on this video is on the road into Kalbarri, and Im sorry, but yes that one is still very very pink, as I've been there to visit my sister every year since 2004;...There are 2 more Pink Lakes in Esperance, but both are on islands, and are closed to the public due to the heavy snake population on one, and the other is highly acidic, so much so that it will burn the skin off your feet. You can fly over them though on the Espy helicopter tour. Esperance has the Recherche Archipelago, with 105 islands, so is worth the chopper ride.
