I remember the Madhouse was the first legendary I ever got, and I was so hyped to finally get one of these guns. Then I went into a bandit camp, fired at a random psycho, missed every shot, got downed, continued to fire at the one psycho, didn't land a single hit, died, and sold the weapon.

My first 3 legendaries were Emperor from the assassins, madhous as a world drop in the bloodshot stronghold and striker from the wildlife explitation preserve loot midgets. Safe to say I didn't have a good first impression on the legendaries 😂

I don't understand why the Sledge's knockback is such a big deal. The Sledge's special effect is the increased burst size which is sort of replicated in the BL2 version. The knockback was a feature available to ALL Jakobs weaponry with a mat3 or XX material.

The gun isnt that good, its just the knockback is tuned up like 8 notches. Adding the x11 multi you can shoot enemies across the map. Mostly just for fun tho

I think the Shreddifier could be made a lot better with only two things: 1: A slight increase in base damage 2: A feature that helps with ammo, either giving the gun a chance to not consume ammo(ideally, the lower your mag, the higher the chance) or regenerating Assault Rifle ammo Macrosmatic

I gotta say, I’ve been using a striker variant from slappy that is actually quite good. It’s the “hunter striker” with it having 7 shots instead of 2, and it maintains its damage and accuracy too. Granted I agree with the recoil aspect portion of your review. but all it does is make me take a second to initially aim and then I’m set with blowing the faces off every psycho in the borderlands

A case for the Hammer Buster/Thumpson: the Bekah is impossible to get, and the gatlin gun is only good at short range. If you need range but don’t like snipers, a HB with foregrip and a Mouthwash relic is a great option, as is a pairing to a Jakobs allegiance relic, reducing recoil and taking mag size into the 90s. You can 2-3 shot a dozen distant mobs in one clip, very rewarding, especially if you enjoy Jakobs.

Duel-wielding Shredifiers was the only way I was able to get Salvador to run out of ammunition when gunzerking. Also, I find it interesting that the bandits did an homage to Sledge's Shotgun by Jakobs in their own style, but in Borderlands 3, Jakobs makes a new model of Sledge's Shotgun, but bases it on the bandit design from Borderlands 2.

DrIvanRadosivic OK, I was just pointing out how it was unlikely that they revive the ss munitions as they had the same significant boost in ammo capacity as Bandit and scav. I know that the ss munitions guns may have been better in the first borderland then Bandit and scav in the later borderlands games. I can only see ss munitions returning the same as dahl attacking Helion. P. S. I've played every borderland and every dlc I partly know what im talking about and no I don't fancy buying a dead game like battleborn ( I don't mean to be harsh about battleborn but thats how I see it)

It's definitely a functional weapon. No frills but very ammo efficient. And, you can use fire or corrosive versions to good effect against Bandits and Loaders thanks to their easy crit spots. It's basically what all Dahl weapons wished they could be; non-red text Dahl weapons though have pitiful damage.

I like it on certain maps. It's useful in the final quest in the Tea Party questline because all of the mob enemies come in through the narrow entrance so you can fire above their heads and kill a bunch of them with the novas.

Using Tourge parts on the Pryophobia will slow down the rocket and allow the special effect to work much better, it's still not the best launcher ever, but parts matter Edit - again parts matter, you're using Hyperion Grip on the striker, which sends the mag to 2 rather than 4 with Jakobs grip. You're also losing the other matching grip bonuses, and the damage from the Jakobs part. You keep complaining about this thing despite the only issue is you using bad parts. Edit - The Sledges Shotgun is a plenty viable weapon, as shown in your own video. Macrosmatic.

I feel the problem with some legendaries is that while their good on some characters, their bad on others, the mad house is falls into this case, while most characters can't really benefit from it, gaige can get a decent amount of use out of it

I also found the shredifier worked very well on Uranus. I think I also had a slag version of that. Uranus is such a large target that many of the crappy weapons work well on him. Pretty limited though. My first experiences with many legendaries was from Uranus drops and then I would test it out on my next run.

Again you mention the Striker as a bad option. There are some better shotties in the game, like the Conference Call, but the Striker is actually pretty awesome. It's basically an improved Coach Gun with a small mag. I'm always happy to see one drop, esp. in playthrough 1. You shouldn't really use it as a sniper, as such. It's a great medium range weapon. Powerful, and accurate enough to get the job done.

Have you played a shotgun assassin zero? The Sledges shotgun is by far the best for Zer0, with the striker coming second or even first depending on how you like your shotguns. The conference call doesnt even come close to these two guns on zero. Good video, but play with guns more before saying they suck.

the shreddifier makes me sad. i was farming on maya, got one from a tubby and got so excited. i immediately transferred it to my assault rifle axton, with the assault rifleman mod AND the mouthwash relic, along w the community patch (idk if that buffed the shreddifier but it buffs axton as a whole) that thing takes a ridiculous amount of ammo and time to killed slagged enemies in a crit spot. reckon mine isnt elemental so maybe if i matched it itd be better but it's like shooting a rapid fire pea shooter. suuper disappointing.

Really the Shredifier and Sledges shotgun. I just recently been using the Corrosive Shredifier with Zer0 alongside the Bee shield, I've been getting really good kills with the Shredifier. Borderland 2 Sledges shotgun is so underrated, I've used it with Krieg and it aint that bad. I do miss the Original Sledge Shotgun though, which i hope they bring back in Borderlands 3.

Honestly, the Sandhawk is so unbelievably OP that it's just unfair to compare the Emperor to it. It's just the result of poor balancing, and we all know the answer to every pb in BL2 is "BeeHawk duh". If you take it out of the picture, the Emperor looks like a pretty solid SMG imo.

I found the madhouse useful in one situation. I use a slag madhouse on Uranus. The target is big enough for the projectiles to hit and take down healthfairly quickly. Then use some corosive.

Honestly i love the striker, just because using it on gaige, with its 2 ammo mag, means that i can shoot once with "Smaller, Lighter, Faster", and reload quickly. Thus i will stack anarchy quickly, all while still dealing some kind of damage. Win-win~ Macrosmatic? lol

Fun fact about Striker: it works way better as a CQC weapon. Just jump over an enemy and fire at your feet in midair. Works wonders (not only on normal). The Emperor is good for critting, is ammo efficient and it's one of the easiest guns to farm (I think it has the same drop rate for all of the assasins). Hammer Buster is great as a marksman rifle.

I actually got the Nasty Surprise before getting the flames of the Firehawk on my latest playthrough when I killed a hulking mass of destruction. The grenade at earlier levels is exceptionally deadly and made finks slaughterhouse a breeze for me.

Hey, I got back into BL2 about six months ago, and I don't play a lot so starting from 'almost' finished Normal mode, I'm now about to fight the Warrior in TVHM. I'm sadly already Level 50. I'm just writing this for the purpose of my comment: I'm shocked to see the Hammer Buster on the list. It's the only AR or weapon (other than Sniper Rifles/launchers) that produce 11,000 base damage in the game for me (up until now). And this amount of base damage is faaaaaar superior to everything I have in Legendary. My Hellfire is 1,000 base DMG, my Veruc is 3x2,200, my Maggie is 6x1,200, and so on.. So the base damage that the Hammer Buster brings, not to mention all the perks including Critical Hit DMG make it, honestly, probably one of 3 items I wouldn't play the game without. Jus tmy humble opinion, apologize about the length of this.
