I hate to tell you this, but gaming "came down to this" decades ago, as far back as the first MMO. The only reason it didn't happen sooner was because it wasn't convenient due to a lack of internet access and easy payment models. You can bet your bottom dollar that Nintendo, Sega, and Atari would have all been doing P2W/Microtransaction models in the 80s if there had been the infrastructure to support it. Of course developers are "greedy." They're in business to make money, and if their consumers are willing to pay thousands of dollars a year to play their games, they'd be morons not to take advantage of that.

I don’t support predatory business models long wait times exceeding 2 minutes for recouping lives or completing upgrades, buildings, etc., paid loot boxes (unless it’s cosmetic and you can get a refund from duplicates), and be forced to do micro transactions to progress. I support Cosmetic only micro transactions are okay on partial priced games and mmo free games. I only support pay to win micro transactions on free games and the game must provide an avenue to be the number 1 ranked player in the game without even paying a single penny on the micro transactions or hacking and only using your skills.

Do you remember the old Angry birds Go where it wasn't impossible to upgrade your Kart and in turn almost impossible to win any stars and in turn unlock etc. the older version was a lot better and I had spent my entire time playing saving up in game currency to get a stunt track kart that cost 200 gems, a few days later the game updated, I know in the end user license agreement most games have permission to update and are not responsible for lost progress but that was really frustrating and I soon stopped playing

first I don't think paying $2100 for an above average game. with no customization which I love in any game. and the disabling of micro-transactions is TEMPORARY! they said that crystals would be available to buy at a later date. Although we hope they rework the system so its customization and more player sense of progression they might just slightly tweak the loot boxes so they cant be penalized by the law in the sense of gambling. Star Wars battlefront 2 is a great game and I think it is too but the lack of a sense of progression and NO customization at other things than the credit/loot box problem that just hold it back. back to your statement. I believe they should be on this list. definitely not #1 or even close, but maybe around 7 or higher or even an dishonorable mention

From my experience, I would have to say a lot of base building f2p games can be terrible. In some scenarios the player feels forced to spend cash just to stay alive against people who spend a lot of money to be on top. Causing some toxicity when those big spenders ruin the fun or ability to survive.

Judas The Ally I have been playing it for over 3 years and my town is Ginormous! I've even run out of space and have close to 200 characters. All without spending a single penny. The game was known as a "Timewaster" which means you're supposed to play in your down time. So the 24 hour waits are no big deal. And getting donuts is pretty easy too. But unfortunately everyone seems to have this super short attention span and needs every power up immediately. No one wants to put in the time or effort anymore. It's kinda sad. I mean, it's a lot better than the $50 console games I've shelled money for. I mean, I've been playing the Simpsons every day for 4 years, for free and have yet to feel like I'm missing out because I don't have all the premium things! How can you say anything bad about that.
