Another thing that can suck about Cons is when one person wants to do one thing and another person wants to do another. Like my one friend loves table top games and at AMKE 2014 all she wanted to do one day was spend hours in the table top room, but I don't like table top games, so I ended up turning into the asshole friend who keeps bugging everyone to leave.

Tainted Dove Cosplay This reminds me of something that happened last summer at Anime Midwest. My friend wanted to go to the Undertale photo shoot and then the Undertale panel that took place right after. I still can’t believe we managed to pull it off without my parents finding out, but we split up so we each could do what we wanted.

Yeah the fan panel thing... There was a vocaloid panel at my first con and I was glad we came late. It really sucked because it was just all a poorly done overview of each of the characters with awkward music videos after every slide for the character. There were only about 15 other people in there as well. I also hate when people in my group all want to do different things. I was with my friend and her schools anime club (we were a group of 9) and it was so annoying to figure out what we would do and where we would go. Especially because it was an extremely small con with vendors in incredibly small hallways. So we almost always were in the way. I was also annoyed by us getting in line for autographs. The line was less than 15 minutes long (again, very small con) because some of my group members kept going out of line. And this one staff was like "this is a fire exit, you have to keep this clear!" and so we also had a 5th grader with us (one of their brothers) and he kept stepping out of line. It wasnt that bad, it was just annoying to try to talk to all these people in the group while on the wall.

At my first con, the thing I hated the most was 1) not being noticed (even smiled to or complimented at my cosplay) and 2) waiting for things to open. 1) I was the Once-Ler last year and sadly I thought people would at least know who I was, but no one knew and no one dared to smile at me, compliment me, etc. I was very jealous that my sister (cosplayed as Levi from AOT in a maid outfit) got recognized and people knew who she was. 2) There was specific times for the arcade / game room and shop to open and last year, my family arrived there at around the same exact time that it started and we had to wait like 3 hours for the game room to open and like 3 or 2 more for the shop (which I REALLY hoped to go to) opened. At least I enjoyed it there and hopefully this year I'll have fun and be noticed more as J-Hope from BTS^^~

Hey there, I have been going to Conventions in Australia since 2006 and I can definitely relate to a whole lot of the stuff on your list, I have a few bad convention stories myself that I'm going to keep very short, one I got criticised for being a plus size cosplayer for just being more plus size, two a staff member at a small Anime con yelled at me and treated me like a dumb brainless person, finally three the over hype fans and overhyped fandoms, they Cosplay all of the same characters multiple times and in multiple forms from goth rock punks, to vampire to villains to cute cats etc. UGH! Anyway Thankyou so much for the video mate, you now have a subscriber from me. I hope That you'll get to make more convention videos, Thankyou.

I can think of some horrible things that happen pre-convention. Aside from finding the prefect materials and such for cosplay, gathering money to go to said con, getting a room if you're traveling, and getting the days off(for those who work or even students). Things I have had happen is convention staff ignoring your emails and being very rude in their response to questions and concerns I have. I also posted the question to their facebook page and I received a response before I got the rude response in the email. Once I got the email, of course I was pissed but I went to the facebook post again that a staff responded to only to find out that their original answer was edited and changed to "don't worry about it."

Of all the places you'd think you can be free to express yourself I got bullied for my cosplay and also saw other people get bullied/getting bad remarks about their cosplay that they worked really hard on. Also the prices, 80€ for 3 days? That's really exspensive just for entry. If I want top buy overpriced imported stuff surely I can order it off the internet. Panels were utter trash/came 5minutes too late and were denied entry. Maybe it'll be different when I go to the UK next year but I'm still unsure of it. Still staying away from cons like the plague.

That fan panel one is so true! I went to the 18+ Fakku presents Hentai Reviews at AX 2016 and it was hilarious!! One of the funniest panels I've been to so far! When my friends and I attended ALA 2017, we saw that someone was hosting a hentai review panel there so we went and holy shit, it was terrible!! The host literally sat in front of the room playing a video from his laptop of him discussing and making jokes about the hentai he was reviewing. Sometimes he would pause the video to make some more shitty jokes in person too. He reviewed only one series (the Fakku one went over about 7 or 8 series) before turning the panel into his own personal Q&A panel. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! To make matters worse, he wore a luchador mask and purposely made his voice sound low and super raspy in order to hide his identity so we couldn't even understand him half the time.

t em i feel that it's small because the first con i went to (anime expo) had over 100k people in attendance
@Mika206 жыл бұрын
That's basically small compared to other cons, but a great size to start off with.

Some people can't take showers while at cons and I couldn't because I had to leave on Facepaint, then apply MORE on because of my cosplay and I had to wear a complete and total body of body paint and facepaint thanks to my cosplay. to avoid washing of the body I couldnt wash it off because I went as Lust Sans for three days straight. (Yes, Lust Sans, it was a dare) The worst part was a bunch of people stopped me and asked for photos and I'm thinking, Great, I have a panel to get to, welp im dead for the next five hours, so a bunch of people have Lust Sans photos, IF they even kept them.

What convention is 2:24? That's a great looking venue. Good list overall. Yeah, I definitely agree with the Fan Panel one. They're either hit or miss, and often really boring. Is it bad that I go to fan panels of fandoms I'm not even apart of (like Hetalia) simply to burn time until the next event I want to see?

8's a great point. Don't go to a convention just to piss people off. That's what the Internet is for. I don't like cons, so I simply don't attend them. Reading comments on cringe videos is enough for me. No need to add fuel to the fire.

Recommend staying away from Animeiowa. Not only do they lack professionalism, but they do not care for your health as they completely lack Covid guidelines. Their 2020 event cancelled and any paid for badges are not applied for future events. That's complete garbage!

how about being forced to stop taking pictures because someone thinks you are taking inappropriate pictures, when the truth is you asked before taking pictures.
