Yugioh has a made a lot of cards over the years, and a lot of them have stories attached to them. They are either explained in Master guides which are books, the Duel Terminal arcade game or inferred over a bunch of different cards. So in today’s list, we are going to go over 10 storylines of cards.

Even a brief summary of The Fallen of Albaz lore would probably be a 30 minute video. Though, it's not like Duel Terminal or World Legacy are short either. Konami really just needs to make animes based on the lore of the cards, Gagagigo's at least 24 episodes of content by himself.

The World Legacy lore is probably longer, since it tackles multiple archetypes (IIRC, it includes 6-7 archetypes). Duel Terminal is the longest no doubt, especially since it's divided into the prequel and sequel lore.

Of note for Spyrals. Spygal Misty is actually a traitor working as a double agent for an enemy nation. This is why her card name doesn’t actually contain “Spyral”

Every time I see a video talking about Yu-Gi-Oh card lore, I always know that the gagagigo line is going to show up. And I'm always happy to listen to the story again, because sometimes there's a new bit of lore.

Wow, a lot of fans are going to drop it after the first volume after they find out its not a manga adaptation of the card lore aren't they? In fact, I might just not even bother buying it. If it gets good enough to get an anime adaptation, I might give it a punt since the quality control of anime publishers (usually) is better at weeding out the "meh" kind of stories.

You made a mistake with Spyral. Sleeper didn't actually survive the encounter where he was brainwashed. Spyral Double Helix was a snapshot of when he was still Super Agent's mentor. Sleeper is wearing the gauntlet that Super Agent eventually takes for himself in every artwork he's featured in. The melancholic artwork on Fully Armed implies that Sleeper is gone and that Super Agent inherited the gauntlet.

you kinda glossed over a couple of cards regarding Gagagigo, namely "My Body as a Shield", where Marauding Captain protected Gagagigo from an attack by Blazing Impachi (which is where they first met, btw, not against the original Impachi), Draining Shield (where Freed blocks Giga's attack), and "Des Counterblow" (where the draining shield retaliates, and results in Gogiga) there's also a few anime cards that contribute to the plotlines, and the wikis link the majority of them

But this one is based off Inpachi not the good boi Gagagigo. I think the first lore video he made talks about the boi and mentions all those (edit: I was reading comments while Inpachi was playing so don't mind this reply 😂 now I'm gonna go back and rewatch that video and this one so I don't talk out of my ass again excuse me~)

For "Gigobyte" you forgot to mention the "Jibabyte" and his awakened form which takes place while he was still with the "Charmers", but personally I likes to believe his Jibabyte and awakened form takes place after his Xyzs since he probably wanted a new beginning after losing his "upgrades" hence his name sounding similar to his first name.

It's hard to say because it seems like Jigabyte is essentially the younger form of Gagagigo along with his other form, Gagigobyte. We don't know for sure if losing his xyz materials also meant losing his armor as well. Not to mention we have the possibility of Eria receiving her Channeler form someday which will show Gigobyte and her new link spirit together. I hope to see that there may be some closure for Gagagigo that he eventually returns to Eria

Probably not as it's a Ginormous lore that revolves around 4 archetypes (Albaz and the fusion dragons, Tri Brigades, Despia, Dogmatika) and they are still pumping out new cards for the lore so it hasn't even finished yet

Man, I love all these old school lores, and it's neat how a slew of meta relevant cards and fun archetypes get showcased in many of them. I'd feel bad for Ha Des getting bullied in so many cards if he and Abyss King weren't such jerks. Upstart Goblin and Warrior Lady are probably my favorite of the lores that started with old school cards.

I loved the inpachi cards as a kid, a 2500 wall and 1850 beater were amazing for childhood playground yugioh. I recognized that the same card was going through various stages but I didn't explicitly realize there was a story behind it, and definitely didn't catch on to the relation to all the others in there

Old yugioh is full of that go look at the first few sets a bunch of the cards are clearly intended to be out of a shared universe a favorite of mine is hiw the witches apprentice is clearly the apprentice to fairy witch / angel witch.

I think for the gagagigo story, he forgot the trap card "draining shield" and for goblin attack force, there is also goblin Elite attack force. There's so many cards that I'm impressed he was able to make so many connections

Aww man you just brought back some great memories. My friend had a fire beatdown deck in our high school meta that focused on things like backfire, flamvell fire dog, and ultimate baseball kid. It also included a couple blazing inpachi, mostly because choices for high atk level 4 fire monsters were pretty scarce at the time

I'll be honest. These stories are pretty all over the place. A lizard man fights in an ice rink, is turned into a modern cyborg but is pals with a western fantasy knight. it feels incoherent without a framing device like MTG's planes that explains tonal shifts with different dimensions and large time spans.

Another card related to Pot of Greed: Moray of Greed. It's effect is that you can shuffle 2 WATER monsters back into your deck to draw 3 cards. I don't know if there's any lore behind it other than a pot of greed is lost underwater, and a moray eel that looks like its face lives in it now.

Blazing Inpachi was the first Inpachi I saw because it was in the starter deck in the ygo gx gba game. I thought it was a blazing basketball player because of the number and it seemingly holding a ball on fire

When Starry Knight was released, I looked into Spent Night Dragon since it's supposed to be the opposite or rival or something. I also heard it was supposed to be the spirit of Gravekeeper's Assassin after being in Royal Tribute and becoming the soul-less Night Assailant. I couldn't find this connection and it's even more unlikely since SND says "a wicked KNIGHT" which Assailant is not. What I did find is that in one of the old games, SND is a Ritual monster. The catch is the Ritual Spell requires a specific monster: Darkfire Dragon. Ergo, Petit Dragon and the associated Charmer, Serpent Night Dragon, the Starry Knights, Marauding Captain, Warrior Dai Grepher, etc are all part of Six Degrees Of Yugioh.

The ending of Inpachi's story is actually a bit more sad. In "Memory of an Adversary," we can see Gogiga Gagagigo holding the head of Inpachi, implying that the later rematch between Gagagigo and Inpachi was fatal for the little guy.

Theres a part of the goblin attack force you forgot to mention. They have a lore tie in with Aliens. They can be seen in A Cell explosion and in Mass Hypnosis, getting their minds taken over by the A Cells created by the Alien Greys

We can't seem to get a proper lore for the Charmers themselves but rather we get more stories about other cards related to them like Gagagigo, Petit Dragon, and even Winda Priestess of Gusto/El-Shaddoll Winda/Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda. I do wish we could get more supports that show us what they really do besides what we see in the tokens, or even better, see Gagagigo's story have closure and reunite with Eria to become an extra deck boss monster for Charmers

Fallen of Albaz has an extremely developed storyline with Despia, Sprigans, Dogmatika, Swordsoul, and Spright. Also Qliphort and Shaddoll. Visas Starfrost and Tearlaments, etc. I think each of those lines could have its own video.

They really need some closure for Gagagigo's story. Will he eventually return to Eria in his Risen form so that she becomes more powerful, eventually her becoming the boss monster for her archetype? I love theel Charmer archetype, and I love that the familiars also have a separate lore. We still do not know an exact lore for the Charmers themselves outside of the Tokens in the SD where we just see them do cute things like playing with their hairs, creating magic circles, playing with their familiars, etc. All seem very wholesome, but not a lot to go by to make a whole lore.
