@HQBergeron

Payton was consistently the best I’ve seen, especially given the length of his career. Barry Sanders would be next, but quit too early. I would like to have seen Wilbert Montgomery at least be in this list, and was afraid they were going to leave Marcus Allen out until near the end. They put in a few quarterback runs and “consequential” runs that could have been left out. And perhaps they should have included the game with OJ running in the snow for a record, even if he turned out to be a double-murderer who just didn’t get convicted for it. Still this was a fun one to watch and I was glad they got Dorsett’s 99.5 yard run in there. I saw that one as it happened on TV.
@USAR8888
@USAR8888 2 жыл бұрын
@@HQBergeron I definitely think Payton was the better running back between him and Sanders, no disrespect to Sanders. But Payton's longevity and hardly missing a single game throughout his career despite the beating he took day in and day out definitely makes him the better RB in my opinion. Not to mention he was a crazy good blocking back, something rarely mentioned. And had 1600 extra receiving yards than Sanders.

I totally agree . One stood out to me though . Being a product of Run to Daylight , I saw the Packers great #31 , Jim Taylor , break a sweep and some 40 to 50 yards downfield have #76 Bob Skoronski ?? Get ahead of Taylor and keep the DB from trying to stop Taylor . Certainly some very , very wonderful RBs with " moves " that are almost unbelievable .And the " Power " RBs . !! AlStott , Campbell , Csonka , Jim Brown ( he was amazing ) I really don't mean to overlook any one in those clips , whatsoever The one clip that I really got a chuckle out of was Kenny Stabler s 30 plus yd run for a TD !! This clip is fabulous . For us Old Timers , seeing runs from the 50s , 60s , 70s , etc brings back a whole lot of memories !!! . For the younger viewers ,they probably wonder why the clips showing a quarterback sneak , or 3 yard run by a Colts RB (Ameche ? ) are on this clip . I'm fairly certain that RBs , Hugh McElhaney, W. Galinore ( the Wisp ) The predecessor , to great Chicago Bears RBs Gayle Sayers , and " Sweetness " . This clip is terrific . It touches just about everything From the historic TD in OT , Ice Bowl QB sneak to The TD that marked the greatest comeback in SB history !!! Some obscure " Old Timers " players . I hope younger fans , players , coaches will watch this wonderfully researched film .Not only from the terrific runs by the RBs but the complete efforts of the rest of the O getting downfield to block . Not to overlook the seemingly " ho Hum ' running plays that shaped the history of the NFL . I can't even imagine how much work , study and time this piece took to create . But , I really , really think it's terrific . Thank You !!

Barry Sanders was truly one of the greats, but to claim he was "by far the greatest running back of all time", is a real stretch. Barry had 3,062 carries for 15,269 yards, with an average of 5 yards per carry. His longest run was 85 yards. He had 352 catches for 2,921 yards and scored 109 touchdowns.' Walter Payton rushed for 16,726 yards, (1,457 more than Sanders), which broke the record for most rushing yards by any NFL player in history. He caught 492 passes (140 more than Barry) for 4,538 yards and 125 touchdowns (26 more than Barry). The ONLY place that Barry Sanders stats are better than Walter Payton is the yards per carry average, where Barry had 5 and Walter averaged 4.4.

Fred Taylor was that dude. He was BEYOND underrated; he was just outshined because he played during the reign of Ladainian Tomlinson.. Also, literally the entire list could be made up of Barry Sanders runs. He’s the greatest running back to ever take a hand off without debate. Most consecutive 100 yard games, most consecutive 1,500+ yard seasons. 2,000+ yards his MVP year in ‘97, and 5 yards a carry his entire CAREER and did it behind the worst O-line in the NFL. He’s the undisputed goat. With ease. Oh, and that was absolutely NOT the number 1 run ever get outta here. Barry had 3 that should’ve been above that one.

No argument there .Sure many have differing opinions . That's entirely acceptable . Many viewers will say " WTF " a 3 yard TD run making this " greatest runs " list ??? !! The heading of this video should say . " The greatest runs from scrimmage of all time And the runs that were of historical NFL history . What's so great about Starr's 1 yard sneak ,etc .Bo Jackson's 3 yd run over of The " Boz " These clips cover players , teams that have been long forgotten . But watching them , remembering where you where and what you were doing that particular day is awesome . Sure ,after watching , you think of a few runs that an individual fan might feel belong in this film

I am in complete agreement that the "Beast Mode Run' is the greatest of all time. I also love when Earl Campbell destroys Isaiah Roberts of the Rams.

Although my opinion will always be that Sanders was better than Lynch, there's little room to argue that Lynch deserved the top spot. Sanders was more like a magician with how elusive he was, Lynch was like a freight train you have no chance of derailing!

Thank you! Great work!! Walter Payton is my all-time favorite, but Barry Sanders was an absolute beast! He seemed to dominate these highlights and deservedly so. Absolute class act.

Barry Sanders run at 17:25 is one of the most amazing runs I've ever seen. It should have been way higher on this list in my opinion.

His runs against the Bears, Cowboys and Pat's should all be top ten. Amazing and typical Barry Sanders at the same time.

Great compilation. Just when i was about to bitch you out the Marcus Allen run appears at #2. Still, there were a couple more by Dickerson, Ricky Waters, Leon Washington Freeman McNeil, Curtis Martin but all in all pretty well done. If in no particular order through much of it.
