The Indian currency is stronger than the Japanese and Korean currencies, but that doesn't imply that India is less or more developed than Japan or Korea. The same applies to Afghanistan as well. It's all about trade volumes; even though the Afghani currency is stronger, it holds little significance on the global stage beyond trade. This is because currencies are backed by foreign reserves and gold in which Afghanistan doesn't even come close to India and cannot be compared.

@@Khhh-f9qcopy paste from my previous comment- countries deliberately devaluate their currencies to increase FDI, more X currency= 1 USD doesn't mean it's a bad thing, countries can in fact increase the value of the currency if they want but they may choose not to. Also reminder to everyone that this ratio only means anything in the context that the trade takes place in USD, if the USD were to collapse then this evaluation will stop being relevant. BRICS is already working on that btw. Edit: not a fan of modi but devaluation is not necessarily a bad thing

From 1991 Economic Crisis to his decisions between 2004-2008. He even gave a strong growth rate during his 2nd term even after 2008 Global Economic Crisis, the effects of which lasted for another 4-5 years. He gave a robust growth rate even even when India was paying the highest prices for Crude Oil Imports (Brent). During 70% of his tenure the Crude Oil prices were above 100$. And don't forget the Purchasing Power of US Dollar during that time (Inflation). So TECHNICALLY Speaking he had to spent 4-6 times more than what our current government is spending yet the Economy was growing at a Crazy Pace and with lowest of Unemployment rate. Even Narendra Modi, Ambani & Adani appreciates what he did during his tenure.

1 pkr = 5 won . So Pakistani economy is better than Korea? No Is pkr stronger than won? No 2017- 1pkr = 8won 2024- 1pkr = 5won So pkr is losing strength and won is gaining. This is what strength of a currency means. A strong currency is one that is gaining value in comparison to other currency.
