People in Netherlands and the government is forcing me to be against Israel, like Iran. It's called 'the country you must not name' and if you do, they know you are pro Jews or helping them. We use secret locations for anything religious. I live very isolated and cannot study in big cities and be myself. Realizing this makes me very sad. In an emergency , fleeing is an option.

Just a point to add on BBQ's - when researching customs rules you can't bring in a used gas BBQ and can only bring a new gas BBQ with a "permit".

Keep your sense of humor when coming. Yes, keep windows open in each room a crack in winter. Then when it's time Pesach clean 🙂 Aliyah videos are very good, just come over and expect the unexpected. We were by ourselves and knew nobody and I remember my Rabbi telling us, Keep your sense of humor. If you yell, "does anybody speak Hebrew" chances are someone will come up to you to help....lots of helpful people in Israel.

I found your video highly informative, and you mentioned topics I had never considered. I would like to make a suggestion, though: You used several Hebrew expressions that I am unfamiliar with. I think these are mostly concerning religious matters; it would be helpful to me if you put up the text (spelling) of those words, plus a brief definition. Thank you.

I am starting to seriously consider aliyah given how bad its been getting since 10/7 and stumbled across this video. Very helpful. And too the point. No sugar coating it. A lot of videos gloss over the practical stuff and make it seem so so easy when it isnt. You are going to be in a new country with an unfamiliar language. I got Pimsleur and Duolingo to help me with Hebrew. I also got two boys (12 and 10) so I worry how they would adjust as well.

4 Comments: A. After October 7th it is more critical than ever to make Aliya. No not because any Jew should run away from anything but because aside from fighting in the IDF it is the BIGGEST blow to our enemies! As Asher Geudalia said at his brother Yosef's funeral after being killed defending Israel on that terrible day if we have 100 times the people who were killed on that day make aliya it would be akin to the IDF destroying our enemies. B. PLEASE MAKE NEVER AGAIN mean something! Do NOT buy Chinese products or for that matter any country with human rights abuses. Why specifically China? We thought we would never see work and death camps again after the Nazis and Stalinists but they are alive and well in China and therefore, Jews more than anyone else should NOT be buying Chinese products...ZERO. Is it hard? Yes, but so is making Pessach and making Aliya. Totally doable and will take you just a little longer to find. Plenty of Indian socks, Polish lightbulbs and Japanese batteries, etc. As an aside, they also have officers both in Iran and Syria helping our enemies. Need I say more? C. Given comment B I strongly suggest staying away from electric cars for the following reasons: 1. Most on the market in Israel are Chinese. Yes, there are Teslas which are quite popular and Subaru, Toyota, and others have a model or two. 2. If they start a fire the fire cannot be put out and the car will be totaled as fire departments around the globe do not have the money to get the special trucks and chemicals to fight a battery powered vehicle fire. 3. It is in its infancy and yes there are WAY more charging stations in Israel, and they happen to work and are not vandalized like in the states, yet the life span of batteries are like your cell phone and as it ages the charge weakens and you get less performance out of it. Not to mention having to buy a new battery which can be as much as buying a whole new car. 4. As for quality of the Chinese as well in 2015 they allowed Chinese buses for the first time into the Israeli market and everyone bought them due to their great prices. Today only the big cooperatives of bus companies like Eged buy them as the private companies were so sick of them breaking down so incessantly and the cost they incurred. The big guys buy so many that they always have "extra" buses should they have break downs and as a volunteer policeman in Beit Shemesh broken down buses are always a delight in the middle of rush hour at a traffic circle. Too common. E. They really aren't green at all as the ecology that is destroyed to get the amount of cobalt and lithium out of the ground is FAR more damaging than drilling for oil. That and the fact that these resources are found in third world countries where the locals if they aren't slaves working the mines then they are getting next to nothing for endangering their lives in the mines many times the slaves being minors! D. Having mentioned minors, Israel is the greatest place to raise your Jewish kids PERIOD!

I have a question regarding to the import taxes. What percentage is it when youre buying items over 75$? Is it the same as an item thats over 200$ for example? Also can you use a courier from lets say america or europe (where they give you an american/European address to which you ship and then they ship it to their courier in israel and you pick it up)
