Thank you so much for this information! I'm on Depokote, Wellbutrin, & Gabapentin and never felt so horrible for so long in my life. A day doesn't go by that I don't sit on the side of my bed & cry. My behavior is so strange, I can't even put it into words. Much to my surprise my nurse practitioner has agreed to ween me off of the meds, but has started with the Depakote, reducing it from 1,000 mgs to 750. He did say that if I showed signs of mania he would have to go back to 1,000mg obviously not knowing what you stated, that it would be my brain getting use to not having it as opposed to relapsing. I know that getting off of the neurotoxins won't necessarily be easy if not done properly, but I don't think if done properly I will feel any worse. I have no quality of life. I just discovered your video, and prior to, was going to find a way to afford the Amen Clinic to have a SPECT done. I don't know if you'll see this reply, but I'm going to further research to see if you offer services near me. I'm in Southern NJ

Depakote slows us down. Tegretol and lamictal to me. So u may feel things that r like mania, racing thoughts but our brains need to balance or recalibrate. Ots what ive experien ed. And i reqd all ur statement and seen u covered that ha

Huh funny that, my depakote made me want to kill myself with the first dose. Drug number 14 attempted and yet another failure. 4th one so far that made me want to kill myself. Researchers don't even know how this works.

You keep mentioning antiphysotic - but depakote is not one, correct? Isnt this supposed to be about depakote?
@joqiii34 жыл бұрын
I take an antipsychotic called Serequel and it’s taking me around 16 months to go from 100mg to 50 mg. I am dropping 4mg per month and will continue on my depakote while tapering the Serequel.

Brother help me! I'm in the same ocean as you. I'm taking Queitiapine XR (Qusel XR) 37.5 mg currently with 250mg Epival (Depakote) but I can't lessen the Qusel XR further because it has some sort of coating which prevents me from dividing it further. Can I take Qusel without XR in place of it so it can be divided. Additionally, as the dose of Qusel XR is getting low, the nausea and vomiting are hugely increasing.

@@fahadimran6961 I am tapering my Serequel VERY slowly by having the drug custom made for me by a compounding pharmacy. It sounds to me like you have another method that you use and are probably do this on your own. My suggestion to you would be that you use a compounding pharmacy that way you can down more slowly and give your brain more time to adjust to lower and lower doses. Hope this helps. I wish I could find a compounding pharmacy that could handle Depakote but none of them do. It’s going to be hell getting off that one for me. Just curious, may I ask your age? I am almost 75 so I am purposely going very very slow with Serequel. FYI, I take 250 of Depakote and 180mg the next night. I want to taper off it but am going to wait until I go as low as I can with Serequel.
@fahadimran69613 жыл бұрын
@@joqiii3 I want to add one thing I learnt from "Alternatives to Med Centre" is that you have to increase the depakote as you lower the dose of seroquel as the side effects of seroquel get more tolerable! After the seroquel gets completely out of your body and brain, you can start tapering off the depakote.

I'm just wondering if depakote has withdrawl symptoms like benzodiazepines do? My understanding is that it works on gaba receptors

I disagree with, one month based on one year! Our brains are the slowest thing to heal on us and the gaba receptors get filled up,(the antipsychotics are very sticky to the brain's receptors, so it could take a lot longer! I wanted to stress the point of, that each person is different, but I don't agree with Dr.'s, not listening to their patient's and keep the taper going, (no matter what), then placing the patient in Post attracted withdrawal syndrome, that takes, year's of a person to try and heal. If you go slow enough, (a patient can work, function, become more, confident! Fast taper's are, horrid and a patient becomes non functional, can't work, and self esteem gets worse!! (So since, (the patient's are the only ones, that can truly feel their body and brain function,) ( the patient should be in control of their wean!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's inhumane the other way!!!!!!!!!! BTW, thank you for the video/input...... 💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌

I don't want my son of meds, but what do you do when a person is autistic like my son? How do I help him without having to use those meds? My son's insurance wont cover the cost of CBD for Autism. It is very costly to buy out of pocket. Right now my son is on Depakote and Abilify.

@danielpacheco48214 жыл бұрын
I take high dose of depakote for mental health prescribed by dr and once u get used to it there are minimal side effects. Def does not make you sleep all the time. Atleast not me. Everyone is different but its not a medicine u take and feel effects right away, its subtle- takes weeks and u barely notice.

Nausea gi irritation from top of stomach all the way to the colon , curling gurgling stomach begging me to just go and chip the coating off an xr pill and get some of that nasty acrid minty raw drug on my tongue and wash it down!!!uhhghghgh and seroquel withdraws seem very similar. And I'm talking like ~65mg of depakote while I'm withdrawing from it will in twenty mins make me calm ,happy, stomach is better, so yes sad to say but I can kick dope easier than depakote or seroquel, after years and years you legit have to taper by the mg damn near and keep a pill cutter and bottle on you like fudge man !what gives doc!

Even at only 10% reduction per month, my daughter feels a bit unwell every day but she can still do her activities. The doctor prescribed 500 mg of Depakote ER which she took for 9 months, and after tapering for 4 months, she's now on 329 mg. Still a long way to go. She was traumatized by her school experience but is it a mental illness that needs meds... I don't think so. Now.
