One of my standout memories from childhood will always be watching classic Tom and Jerry with my Dad and Grandpa... It's something all 3 of us could agree on... and with them getting older and older, i still look back on these shorts as one of the best times of my life.

I will say my personal favorite Tom and Jerry cartoon has to be Yankee Doodle Mouse. It was the first cartoon I’ve ever watched and I still have a soft spot for it to this very day. The war esthetic with kitchen utensils and firecrackers is a great concept and it works so well. It also shows the theory that Tom and Jerry were named after the British and Germans

I think my personal favorite of the ones with Jerry and Tuffy/Nibbles as musketeers is the one where Jerry has a sweetheart and sends Tuffy/Nibbles (I remember him having the name Nibbles in at least one Tom and Jerry short and it's always stuck with me) to take a letter to her, he does but Tom is always trying to fight him as he goes and then he has to take the reply back to Jerry while Jerry NEVER notices that each time he leaves and comes back the poor boy is beat to hell and back. It ends with the girl breaking up with Jerry via note, Jerry getting pissed, pulling out a picture of ANOTHER sweetheart he has, having Tuffy/Nibbles take a note to her and Tom trying to yet again fight him, going "En guard!" 3 times and leaping back to get in his way each time...Tuffy/Nibbles' response? "En guard, En Guard, EN GUARD! Phooey!" and then marching off to deliver the note pissed as all hell and Tom just look at him dumbfounded as he walks into the distance.

Ive seen the original tom and jerry episodes it was so funny to watch it as a kid and i wasn't born until 2001 but they played the old ones on a channel called boomerang it showcased old classic cartoons that they didn't play no more on the other cartoon channles

One of my favorite Tom and Jerry episodes is Million Dollar Puss. Not only is it funny, with all the crap Jerry puts Tom through and Tom having to restrain himself. But in my opinion has the funniest ending line to a Tom and Jerry Cartoon. The whole premise is that Tom wins a million dollars but he can't hurt even a mouse. Jerry takes fully advantage and we're waiting for him to crack...when he does it's BEAUTIFUL having to stop mid rant and go "Gee, I'm throwing away a million dollars...BUT I"M HAPPY!" and just goes bananas. It's a very rare Tom,, the build up is beautiful, and that ending crack is so funny.

6:38 Misconception there, Nate. Tom was only called "Jasper" in the first short, "Puss Gets the Boot" [1940]. Starting with the second short, "The Midnight Snack" [1941], that's when the maid called him "Thomas", and it stayed that way for the next 11 years afterwards, until the maid's final appearance in the short, "Push-Button Kitty" [1952]. And as for the redubbed versions made in the 90's by Turner, the redub of Puss Gets the Boot still calls him "Jasper", while in the others, he was called "Thomas", so they didn't change that like you thought they did. The most they did to the original dialogue was change some words to more "proper" English.

A more iconic duo? Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. The pair did a radio show, a tv show, and a whooping 40 movies together, with a dozen other celebrity actors. They were memorialized in the Baseball Hall of Fame for their most famous skit "Who's on First?" despite neither being professionally involved in baseball. So impactful in the genre of comedy they; appeared in early looney tunes, were given homage in talk shows decades later, and still get referenced in movies (like Arrival). Now of course not every movie was a hit, their early films relied on outside musical talent and their later films reused skits, but there's bound to be one for anybody.

I have analog so we get MeTV from our local FOX station and they play cartoons every Saturday morning. It's Popeye and Pink Panther (with some other Fleischer and UA cartoons) from 5-6, Tom and Jerry (along with other Tex Avery and Harmon-Ising MGM cartoons) from 6-7, Woody Woodpecker (and other Universal cartoons) from 7-8, and Looney Tunes from 8-9.

I LOVE Jerry and Jumbo! One of my favorite episodes. He should've put the Zoot Cat though. I do agree with Whoopi's stance on Mammy. I love her, personally. Eh, the modern ones have their moments. Even the first movie. Any time they're not talking or helping the girl is enjoyable.

11. I remember doing a cringy dub of this episode where Tom was a literal vampire. 10. Always a favorite, no matter what time of year it is. 9. I actually find this one disturbing. It could be on Dark Toons 8. I think this is my favorite of the "Jerry need help" episodes. I wish they brought Muscles back in the original show. 7. I saw this short way before I saw Sleeping Beauty, so eat that, Disney. XD 6. This one is very sweet and cute. And it's nice to see Tom show concern for Jerry as well. 5. This one disturbed me when I was younger. At least it was a dream. Also, I love Jerry's utter confusion at the end. 4. I love the music and scenery in this one. A short, but sweet story. 3. Another classic. The only thing Rhapsody Rabbit has over it is that Bugs mouths the M word at the end. But T&J did that joke too, in another short. And did it better. 2. I actually haven't seen this one in years. It was on a disc I lost. I need to find it again. 1. Honestly, this one is funny, but I also find it profoundly disturbing. Besides the infamous "Don't You Believe It" moment (which is actually a reference to another old TV show). The fact that Tom keeps the injuries he acquires, he slowly loses his mind over the course of the episode, and he freaking DIES at the end, it feels like a creepypasta. Although, I will admit, the part where he bursts through the ceiling is great. I always imagine someone living upstairs and randomly seeing him in their floor. XD

Whenever I used to sleep over at my cousins I would play boomerang while I slept but if your curious what is a more iconic duo well I can name a good handful Scooby Doo and gang (and every other mystery group) The super pets (which was a thing) SWAT Kats (which was more of a short then a full show) Every looney Tunes and their emery The Flintstones Tom and Jerry (of course) Batman and Robin (duh) (I’m just going to stop because I’m starting to become brain dead trying to remember them all but I do wanna call attention to this to see how many people remember this one episode where every mystery met each other like all of them I’m not joking either I clearly remember Scooby Doo and gang meeting all the other mystery gangs that are out there it was pretty weird um anyways I said what I wanted to so um yeah)
