I stayed with my husband through lung cancer. I took him everywhere and stayed to keep his spirits up. I held his hand when he took his last breath.

Such a touching and strong story. You clearly showed incredible love and support. How did you manage to stay strong for him during such a tough time?

They aren't the only ones to stay with their dying partners. I looked after 2 husbands until I couldn't manage anymore. This has happened to 1000's of people. I do feel sorry for all of them though.

From the time I was 9 until I was 12, I helped my mum care for my nana who was dying of cancer. I helped when mum had to do things like go to the bank and get groceries because this was 1975-78 and the online world didn’t exist then. The cancer ate into my nana’s face at the corner of her eye and part of her eyelid. I rarely saw the eye beneath the gauze patch she kept over it and only out of the corner of my eye. I got really good at averting my eyes when I was a kid. I never saw my nana cry though my mum heard her cry quietly in the middle of the night. During the last 6 months to a year of her life nana was on a very powerful pain med that isn’t even on the market anymore called Brompton’s Cocktail and it had a drug in it that under normal circumstances was illegal. I have no memory of my nana without cancer and I wish I did. Nana taught me to be strong and not to show the pain and for that I thank her. Nana died when I was 12 at the age of 84.

Definitely, it’s such a testament to true love. Who do you think represents true love in Hollywood?

Not being funny but isnt this what marriage is supposed to be ... isnt it ment to be from death do us part ... many people go threw these troubles everyday .. but i take nothing away from these men .. they should be very proud of themselves.. it does show the true love unvolved in each case and the heartbreak they must of felt afterwards must of bin awful for them ... rip to all

You make an excellent point about marriage vows and the significance of staying by a partner's side through thick and thin. It's heartwarming to recognize the real love in these stories. How do you think society views commitment in marriage today compared to the past?
@steffywoo1Күн бұрын
I think commitment itself stands the test of time ' going back to women waiting for their men to come back from war to men waiting for their wives to return from war now ... I think it definitely depends on what an individual believes commitment means I suppose

Why don't you show pictures of the wives?
@spiritthingw2 күн бұрын
Bob Newhart for one, and I thought Travolta only had 2 kids, not 3, and his son passed before his wife did.
@thefamouspeopleus2 күн бұрын
Good idea! I'll try to include more photos of the wives in future videos. Thanks for the suggestion!

@@spiritthingw Great point about Bob Newhart. And yes, you're correct about Travolta’s children. I’ll be sure to double-check the details and make corrections. Thanks for catching that!

John Travolta and Kelly Preston did have 3 children. Jet, Ella Bleu, and Benjamin. 😊.

Do they hold auditions for the most grating, awful voiceovers? If so, this guy is Oscar material.

Johnny Cash died long before 2023. The voice narrative is correct, 2003. But the written says 2023
@thefamouspeopleus2 күн бұрын
Great catch! You're absolutely right - Johnny Cash passed in 2003. I'll make sure the details are updated for accuracy. Appreciate your sharp eye!
