■Lake Ashinoko Moto Hakone ( early to late November )
Hakone is a highland area formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Hakone and is known as one of the "100 best autumn leaves viewing spots in Japan.
Lake Ashinoko is a caldera lake formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Hakone.
■Onshi Hakone Park ( Early to late November )
Onshi Hakone Park is located on a peninsula called Togashima, which juts out from the western shore of Lake Ashinoko, and commands a panoramic view of Lake Ashinoko and Mt. Fuji.
■Hakone Yama-no-Hotel ( early to late November )
The Yama-no-Hotel is a resort hotel located on the shore of Lake Ashinoko, with impressive white walls and red roofs that make it look like an old castle. In front of the hotel's main building is a well-kept garden, which is exceptionally beautiful during the autumn leaves.
■Lake Ashinoko Kojiri ( early to late November )
The northwest shore of Lake Ashinoko is called Kojiri, where there is a terminal port for sightseeing boats and the first station of the Hakone Ropeway, which leads to Owakudani.
■Sengokuhara ( Early to late November )
Sengokuhara is a large field of silver grass located in the northern part of Lake Ashinoko's Kojiri. In autumn, visitors can stroll through the golden waves of silver grass.
■Ashinoko Skyline (Shakushitoge and Mikunitoge) ( Early to late November )
Ashinoko Skyline is a toll highway that straddles Kanagawa and Shizuoka Prefectures, and is a pleasant sightseeing road that offers views of both Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashinoko. "Shakushi Pass" and "Mikuni Pass" along the road.
■Fujimi Toge (Fujimi Pass) ( early to late November )
Fujimi Toge is one of the best viewing points from which to view Lake Ashinoko and Mt. Fuji. The view from Tenkakudai, located a little ahead of the parking lot, is excellent.
■Taikanzan ( Early to late November )
Taikanzan (Mt. Taikan) is located in the southeast of the Hakone Outer Ring Mountains and offers a spectacular view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji.
■Lake Tanzawa ( Mid to late November )
Lake Tanzawa is an artificial lake located in the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture, famous for the view of Mt. Fuji from its shore.
■Nakagawa Onsen ( mid to late November )
Nakagawa Onsen is a hot spring resort with beautiful autumn leaves located north of Lake Tanzawa, and has been selected as one of the "100 best places for autumn leaves in Japan".
■Lake Sagami ( mid to late November )
Lake Sagami is a dammed lake in northern Kanagawa Prefecture. It is an artificial lake created by the Sagami Dam, which dammed the Sagami River. On the northeastern shore is the Prefectural Sagamiko Park, where visitors can enjoy leisure activities such as fishing and boating by the lake.
■Lake Miyagase ( Mid to late November )
Lake Miyagase is a dammed lake about 30 minutes by car from Lake Sagami. It has been selected as one of the "100 Dammed Lakes in Japan". The "Mizu-no-sato Grand Suspension Bridge" crosses the lakeside area in the center of the lake and is the symbol of Lake Miyagase.
■Lake Shinseiko ( Late November - Early December )
Lake Shinseiko was created during the Great Kanto Earthquake of September 1, 1923, when a hillside collapsed 200 meters into a depression that became a lake.
