aMSa is a genius. Every egg you see him use is only there for the setup into his next combo/attack. It's like a dinosaur shark stalking its prey.

Sickitung But even the majority of the time that he egg stalls the second an egg connects he will hop off the ledge and chase to try to start a combo. Even if someone throws an air attack through an egg, he will try to bait that out and catch them in the end lag of their attack. He very rarely will use egg stalling without a followup (and we all know what happens when aMSa gets one hit on someone... lol)

I really don't think the meta game has evolved for smash4, but right now most of it is up smashes. Just wait a little and you'll see better playing style instead of down throw up smash up smash.

xMyNameHas3Xsx problem with PM is that no matter what you can fix, its still Brawl and the balancing is leaning towards Melee characters too much to the point where I'll just the stick with the KING itself:Melee. Smash 4's meta hasn't developed yet and PM's meta is "Easy Mode" Melee and nothing new. Melee still has some new stuff coming out as well

Just gonna throw this out there, how come when someone uses countless up-airs or f-airs for a string combo in Melee it's perfectly fine, but when someone does it in smash 4 it automatically becomes a garbage game?

IMO it's because of the famous Diddy D-throw U-air U-air combo that kills at low damage in Sm4sh, and it's abused with many characters in different ways (u-tilts, f-airs, stuff like that). It doesn't happen much in Melee though.

Marisa Kirisame I don't think that's the case. I mean look at Falco and Marth. Marth will forward air someone into oblivion and God help you if you're a spacey. Falco will do the same with his Shine into Down Air, and do it over, and over, and over, and over, with some back airs and Forward Smashes in there. That Diddy garbage is probably a huge reason, but I really do think it's just people on the competitive, tech skill wavedash side of things calling the game out.

People love hyperbole. Overall though, they just (opinion obviously) don't look as exciting thanks to the larger hitlag, the ease of doing them, and that they usually end in both characters being in neutral rather than the aggressor being able to force a possible 50/50/ But that's just one take.

Rawr1752 EDIT: I like metaXzero's explanation better. I still have mine below if you want to look at it, but I don't think it's as good. Okay, fair enough. But other combos still exist in the game. In Smash 4 there is no creativity: you can do those combos guaranteed. In Melee, there are so many more options, sometimes those strings just happen to be the best options at the time. PS, those Marth strings are when someone mistakingly allows Marth to go to FD most of the time, I know from experience. They don't happen nearly as much on other stages.

I'm assuming the clip at 2:20 isn't a tournament match? the yoshi player did like 5 or 6 up-airs in a row; certainly the referee woulda stopped the match if he saw that happen. The falcon is a damn good sport for not making the other player forfeit the match after that cheap play. In Alabama, we don't bother asking people to forfeit. If anyone pulls a cheap stunt like this they have about 5 seconds to pack up their shit and run before we start throwing punches.
