G'day friends! I hope you are getting ready for the festive spirit. Here are some games that I am excited to try and play in 2024 What are some things you look for in a board game? Are there some games that you are waiting for or looking forward to playing? I often have a few board games already lined up and ordered. I would love to hear what games you are looking forward to. Dont forget to check out my past anticipated game videos (links in the description box) This is a safe space to share your thoughts, stories and opinions. Also Merry Xmas and Happy New Year Cheers Danny :)

Glad to see Kavango getting some love! Really looking forward to this one. I think this could potentially be right up there competing with Wingspan.

Yes I just love the conservation theme of Kavango! :)

I backed Photo Tour. It's a little simple for me, but I would prefer to try and wean my family off Ticket to Ride and up to Photo Tour. It would be more interesting to play for me. And I love the theme. I'm allergic to dairy and I grew up addicted to cheese, so I probably need to skip everything to do with cheese, including board games to not be tempted.

Im quite surprised to not see Slay the spire on these lists, i get that most of the attention that it got was from the fans of the video game itself but i truly think that the game is going to be great overall.
@BoardGameSanctuary9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely check it out. Usually I am a bit hesitant if a game is based on a video game cause it does invite the question of whether it would be easier just to play the video game but on your suggestion im keen to give it a go!

I think we might like the same themes. Nature, travel, animals. Your entire video was full of videos that I am interested in thematically. Hopefully I will get a chance to play a few of the games.
@BoardGameSanctuary10 ай бұрын
Yes Yes and Yes. Haha those are the themes I like. Hopefully you get to try them out!

2024 I’ve pre-ordered Earthborne Rangers and Moonrollers. Thinking of the new Resident Evil next. I’ll look in to Kelp. That looks interesting.

what's up with the massive number of board games that appropriate Asian cultures without any Asian representation on the design and art teams? Honestly a pet peeve of mine

Restart will be a big thing in 2024. I've been watching it early since Age of Rome by the same company was one of my top picks in 2023. And time travel? What else can someone ask for? It'll have miniature heroes, I've seen the drafts on Teetotum's social. Give me the launch date NOW.

Civolution and Fromage are definitely on my list. The wife and I are still really enjoying the 2023 special edition of Castles of Burgundy. We can't get enough of the acrylic tile pieces.
@BoardGameSanctuary11 ай бұрын
I love your picks! I have the original Castles of Burgundy. Do you think its worth upgrading? I love the original game but not sure the deluxe components are worth it. I would love to know your thoughts :)
@hermanturnip398411 ай бұрын
@@BoardGameSanctuary IMHO If you play this game more than a few times each year it's definitely worth the upgrade if you also get the acrylic tiles. The vineyard expansion adds a nice wrinkle to the game. No need to get the optional castle miniatures set. This thing has beautiful table presence, putting the standard version to shame. I'm all about the tactile experience to physical games, and in my opinion Awaken Realms knocked it out of the park with this edition. I'll admit that it's a bit pricey, but for me it's worth the cost.

I’m anticipating “The Same Game” by Wolfgang Warsch it’s a cooperative party game and somewhat similar to a “word association” game but instead you choose an item/object that shares a common category with another item/object but does not share a list of other categories-then the other players try to eliminate categories that the two objects do not have in common! Hard game to explain but I think it will be very fun 😃

Afraid you struck a nerve. It's not cool to say "North America and Canada". North America is typically considered to contain Canada, the United States, and Mexico. One might also consider it to contain Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and all of Central America. But by no means does North America mean just the U.S. This is akin to the grievance of people referring to all Brits as "English" when Britain is made up of Scots, Welsh, (Northern) Irish, and English. However, thank you for your work putting together this video. I really appreciate that you take the time to explain a little bit about how a game is played and that you clearly go to a lot of effort to source and include visuals of the setup and components of each game which is extremely helpful. Also, I for one would be very interested in getting a tour of your fish tanks and meeting some of your fish!
@BoardGameSanctuary11 ай бұрын
Hi Rachael Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I actually wasn't aware of this so thanks for providing that information. It was not my intention to refer to the countries improperly. I actually didn't know the proper definition. I did a little google search and I learnt something today! I'm sorry! I will use the term correctly in the future. Danny

These games all look aweful to be honest. Designed for one thing and one thing only...to extract money from board game collectors. None of those games look like they'll be talked about for any length of time after their release. Stick to the modern classics folks. The games that have stood the test of time. Troyes, Agricola, Alien Frontiers, Power Grid, Pandemic, Teotihuacan, Concordia, Castles of Burgundy, etc. You don't need every game that comes out. Save your money.
@Naru-Maki11 ай бұрын
To be fair some are new to the hobby and some like myself don't actually like the games You've mentioned but all games mentioned helps everyone get into the hobby if they find something they connect with.
@morgaknightgames11 ай бұрын
But that's exactly why it's so cool that there are so many choices. Not every game is for every person. Learn what you like, but let other people enjoy the games they like too.
