i only found the rolling levels really really annoying. The rest of them are actually good, especially the bubble mechanic. I have no idea why people hate the bubble blast galaxy. The lumas warn you that its gonna be tough, besides its a trial of your skill. And they give you a checkpoint at the 2nd planet anyways. Only the 2nd planet is actually hard, I found the 1st planet fun and easy

For me the best star in Mario Galaxy is Breaking into the Battlerock in Battlerock Galaxy. I love the part where you use the cannon to save a luma and the part where mario uses a launch star to fly away from an explosion. Also, like pretty much any songs in galaxy, the music is god-tier.

I just had to stop to chime in that the manta-surfing levels of Super Mario Galaxy are complete bullshit. I hate them. I thought the rolling ball levels were more challenging and utilized the motion controls in a much more productive way. Also "Metal Mario can Move" is one of the more unremarkable stars from Hazy Maze Cave. I would've opted for any of the stars at the end of the hazy maze itself. But that's part of the reason that these games work so well, because we all get a little something different from all of them. I'm waiting for new joy-cons to arrive (because the Switch Drift makes SMS borderline unplayable) but I appreciate the fact that you can find these levels I detest so fun. Mad respect

The star in hazy maze cave metal Head Mario can move is actually the one where he goes in the area with the big blue monster gets the metal cap and pushes that switch. It's not where he goes in the poison gas. ironically just the other day I made the same mistake thinking that was that star.
