Still won't happen, and it has been longer than that. The helicopter was promised to everyone in the 50s if not the 30s, but it was/is too expensive for anything other than Commercial uses. The same thing for these, operating and maintenance cost would be too high for these as well, even if you would be stinking rich.

The non exposed propeller design is best . Also with the outward design and propellers able to contort enough to ' embrace ' very high winds . Such a craft would be excellent for emergency rescue operations , even in high altitude mountainous areas .This type of aircraft should easily be made today but sadly , it's about big money first second and third and then about saving lives .

I hope I’m alive when these vehicles are out I know I will enjoy all new technologies for the future. People in the future going to have a beautiful life if man doesn’t mess it up with races hating on each other. I have a feeling everything with be to expensive for even people of the middle class statues. The Icon Aircraft has been around for 10 years now. The Pal V as well... Or supposed to. Never seen one. The hill looks slick. The others are yet to be seen and are not as appealing. 30 times more battery ... Yeah, everybody is looking forward to it... Its dumb that these choppers come with a parachute cause the majority of failures occur too close to the ground for the chute to make any difference . . . Just the illusion of safety. If having a chute were an actual safety mechanism, all smaller military choppers would be equipt with one.

OK, so 99 % of cars have 1 person in them.... My concept of the perfect flying car is a "snap on snap off" 1-person lite weight electric cart with separate top fitting snap on powerful drone. When you get close to where you fly into you can un snap the cart and drive to where you need to go. You own the cart but the drone is rented. Keep the cost low and always have a fully charged snap on drone ready to go. You will not get the same drone back each time as they are charging up. Lots of city Drone Ports and one at your house. 99% of people could afford this....! Keep it simple...... use what we have.... Once perfected this will totally disrupter old fashion expensive cars, clogging up highways and save environment at same time...??? Let’s snap on a lite cart to a powerful drone (like Volvocopter 18 blade super structure} and make it work for everyone. I AI CONTROLS WITH GPS SHOULD MAKE THIS AN AUTONOMOUSE PILOT FROM POINT A TO B...... JUST TELL ALEXIS WHERE YOU WANT TO GO........ Then the whole trillion dollar highway infrastructure budget can now be used to bulldoze down slums and build quality affordable homes with a drone port on the roof….! WOW….!

That first Plane, is a 'modernized' Republic Aircraft design from the 1950's, the "Sea-Bee". It was featured in a Roger Moore "Bond-007" movie, The Man With The Golden Gun, filmed in 1974. The concept is FAR from 'New', never-mind futuristic. I'm Outa here.
