Coming home from school turning on your console, the only time you'd leave your room is when mum called you through for dinner. Just you and all your friends talking and quick scoping in MW2 for hours, you never knew how good you had it until its gone. Now you're either in your mid 20s or approaching your 30s, some may have a mortgage, bills to pay, kids, a family. You see your friends from school maybe once....twice every 6 months and barely talk as everyone is growing up. I'll never forget the times i spent on MW2 and CoD4, i never knew it at the time but literally some of the best moments of my life. Getting old really sucks and my god it passes so fast, scary shit.

I've been in the community for 6 years, stopped 4 years ago, I am now a professional in the area of video editing and filming, and it all started from playing mw2. Games do change your life if you find a way to learn a useful skill through them and take advantage of it. One day I was looking through my old files and found a person I had contacts with ages ago, another editor, so I looked up for his channel and surprisingly he was still creating content. I sent him a message out of curiosity just to see how he is doing, this was his answer: "You have taught me how to edit, I am now using the skills you taught me to make a living and create a career". I never knew that as a 16-year-old I could inspire people and change their lives, all I was doing is going back home from school, playing COD and editing videos. The only difference, I loved it. I hope all of you old school guys found your way.

Best game of all time. Could still play it to this day. Just started playing cod again after about 5 years of not playing and it feels like it was yesterday I was doing this stuff on mw2. Trying to land more and more complex trickshots, the reactions to landed shots.. 1v1s, competitive sniping with your friends on your team. Michael myers, cops and robbers, zombies (now is the game mode infected) learning to do glitch spots. Try harding, all the way to just goofing around and trolling.. those were some of the best days of my life and I honestly miss it. The community really isn't the same as it once was, the people that play cod normally don't talk, and of they do and they seem cool, you don't get to play lobby after lobby with them and decide you want to friend them to okay with them more. It just moves to a new lobby that is normally just silent... really isn't the same. It's still fun, but the community aspect that really made it shine isn't there anymore.

Coming home from school turning mw2 on and leaving homework. Everytime so hyped to hit trickshots. I literally only played with sniper every single day. Pushin' to hit a shot and get it on tape! I wasn't just a trickshotter like some ppl I know claim to be OG. I used to freak on this, claw hand position was hella fine rofl. Used to rock this technique for years. Joined clans, hit clips in online sessions. My clan used to be on YT but I can't find it no more. I've still got that old console and got sum ppl on there from my clan unfortunately being offline for years. Place in me hearts

Been there since like 2010, and it’s pretty clear to anyone who’ve been heavily active in that community, that it’ll never return - at least nothing like what it used to be before loot boxes and Fortnite. I remember being so hyped to get home from school and play MW2, to play FFA and try to hit some feeds and trickshots with some friends. Even though I didn't realize it it at the time, those games would give me memories I would never forget. If you're an OG who played mw2/mw3/bo2 during 2012 - 2016, i just wanna say thank you. You are what made this game and its players so special. The reactions, the squeakers, the trickshots, everything. Even though this community might be dead, and even though the games itself are also dead, people like you shaped the community to the legend status that it holds today. Thank you so much, for the memories, for everything. You are a special person and will always hold a place in my heart. This was the time of my life and I would do anything to go back to the past, to relive even an hour of just hanging out with my homies and just trying to get a suicide shot on carrier.
