The histories from WW2 won’t work nowadays, for example that one with the Tiger-1 that destroyed like 7 soviet tanks. In those days, there were medium and heavy tanks, after 1943 Germany mostly used heavy ones, panthers, that had not that much zones where soviet guns could penetrate it. Today most of the tanks are having equal armor and can be destroyed easily into the sides or some parts of the hull, the place under the turret, etc. So today only amount of ERA and its placement matters.
