I'd like to think that Ace is with Buggy. It was given to him by Roger personally and the whole Roger crew knew about it. But why is Buggy not using it? I'd like to relate it with Buggy's character. Buggy is a sneaky fellow, he is part of Roger's crew but he was brave enough to steal a devil fruit from the crew and sell it, but he ended up swallowing it thanks to Shanks. So eith regards to the sword, I think, Buggy with his sneaky thinking, always thought of stealing that sword and is going to sell it. To him, he knew that the sword will be passed to someone within the crew and for him it is surely going to be Shanks, so his plan will be.. he is going to steal it from Shanks. But he was shocked that Roger chose him to have it. But with that, he was forced to question his beliefs, he knew that he is "evil" and he had a plan to steal it and sell it but it will not happen anymore because it was given to him, so he set aside the sword and left it to rust because the sword is nothing without a story. Receving the sword as a gift was not a good story for him. But maybe in the end of one piece he might get a chance to use this sword along with the most famous technic kamusari. I dont know i'd like to think that, that is the story of Ace(sword) and Buggy. But why Roger gave it to him? I'd like to think that Roger saw something in him not yet shown maybe in current canon... Oda will shock the world again with his comedic characters turning into legendary heroes.
