I will definitely use the boards in front of the door. So easy and I never thought of it. 👍

Awesome tips guys! Ours isn't insulated and we haven't had problems but a little frost bite. I do wish we had some South facing windows! If we ever do it over, that makes a lot of sense why mine stop in Dec mostly. I didn't feel right about the artificial light to get them produce longer.
@faithfullyfitkitchen2 жыл бұрын
Yea we have never done artificial light, we allow their body to do what it needs to do to rest or slow down production if needed. Giving that natural lighting helps for happy chickens too! They get bored in winter and any little boost to prevent pecking is good also! Thank you for watching, my friend!!

Great tips! It’s going to be getting cold here soon too, so I need to get my chicken run wrapped. I love your chicken wire under the roosts - that’s a great idea! I may have to use that if we build another coop in the future…

Thank you Jennifer! Do you guys wrap similar to what we do? The wire under roosts is so helpful!

Some great tips. It is interesting to see how everyone handles their chickens! I'm so glad you're not heating. They will be much safer. We're into snow season here now. We might be snowy until March now. Cheers!

Thank you Rich!! Indeed the snow is here to stay now, and we got our run wrapped just in time! Cheers!!!

I use that plastic/poly wrap for winter as well. But also use a heat gun or propane torch to shrink that wrap a little bit. Loved your video by the way.

That's a great idea! I'll mention this to the mister! Thank you so much for the extra tip and for watching! I appreciate it so much!

Great info! I never thought about having to winterize the chicken coup. That looks like a great way to do it. We do some sledding here in CA too, but it’s in the mud during winter. Our girls hurt to come out every day too year round.

Wait mud sledding!?!?! Is that a thing? That sounds fun...and messy 🤣🤣 Thank you for watching as always Cady! What a blessing to not have to worry about sub zero temps!! It's a doozy 🤣

That's so awesome! Welcome and thank you for checking out the channel! Our chickens Videos are probably our favorite to share! My husband builds a lot of things and plans to do some walk throughs over the next year! Do you guys have chickens?

@@faithfullyfitkitchen very cool. Yes, we have chickens. We are huge advocates for raising chickens. We think they might be ideal livestock for many people’s goals and situations. Looking forward to more videos.

We totally agree! It was our first step into homesteading before we even had our own property and we would recommend them to anyone! Thank you so much for being here!

@@faithfullyfitkitchen absolutely! We moved to the Ozark region over 2 years ago from New York. We had chickens in New York, and we had a small yard. Chickens are great to have. Be well.

Do you use a humidity gauge to measure moisture?

We have not but that's actually a great idea. Do you use one?
