You didn't give SHINee's influence and accomplishments enough time. For those who don't know, SHINee created the Rookie Grand Slam, by winning every top award in their rookie year. They were the first to bring complex choreography to their songs, which is now the expected standard in the genre. They popularized dance practice videos and dressing up for Halloween. Their youngest member, Taemin, is one of the top dancers in all of K-Pop and is the first person to debut across THREE generations: 2nd gen with SHINee, 3rd gen as a soloist, and 4th gen with SuperM. He also is known as your idol's idol, being the inspiration and positive influence to many 3rd and 4th gen idols. There's plenty more, but you get the idea.

After discovering KPop through BTS (in 2019) and spending over 2 years in their rabbit hole, I started to explore other/different K POP Groups. After finding a lot of great songs from numerous groups like Shinee, Stray kids, Exo, Seventeen, TXT, NCT, Enhypen... I fell in love with Ateez 😍 They captured my heart immediately, just like BTS did a few years back! So my Army & Atiny heart is really happy seeing them and their placements on this list.

I always get nervous when I see these lists but I agree wholeheartedly! I may have changed up the order a bit but I completely agree. I have been into kpop since 2011 and to see how much kpop has grown is amazing. So many incredible groups are debuting and still going strong. My favorites on the list are: Ateez, BTS, Shinee, Super Junior, TVXQ, Seventeen, stray Kids, Monsta X, TXT, EXOand more. I was really impressed BAP was on the list. Im so glad this list was a combo of older and newer generations. Kpop is such a new genre in the scope of the world and to understand its history and how big it got so quickly is essential to respecting it. Kpop brings me to much joy and idk what my life would be like without it. I love many groups but I can say that I am now a dedicated Atiny. So happy Ateez was on the list! I can’t wait to keep watching kpop and how it will grow and take over the world.

I am a BTS fan and I am proud to say the way I love supporting them. They are the reason I got Into K-pop and they are just amazing. I’m excited that they are going to be reunited as a group again when 2025 comes two of the members will be coming home from the military this year and it’s just amazing to see that they’ve come along way since their debut. I love them very much and I will always support them no matter what happens. They helped me through the tough times during Covid back in 2020 after I broke up with my second ex-boyfriend and since then they’ve helped me during the Covid times. I was lucky to see them in Vegas when I went to see them back in 2022. I love singing to their songs and their songs are just amazing, I hope to meet them someday I want to thank them and give them the biggest hug. I’m so proud to be a BTS army. 💜💜💜💜

​@@vixxexo6855 as much as I love vixx you're not going to hate on G.O.D. they were one of the biggest 1st Gen groups who helped make kpop popular, they were popular during 2nd Gen as well. They were actually the first official CD I brought in the States.

They were big in the time before the digital age - and they had more than one album that sold over a million (which was a huge accomplishment). They never promoted overseas, so international fans don't really know them but they are 1st gen legends in Korea and several of their songs are iconic to this day. In addition, their lead singer - Kim Tae Woo - was considered like Chen of Exo - the best singer in Kpop.

As someone who got into kpop during the 1st Gen, I'm so happy to see groups like shinhwa, G.O.D, DBSK/TVXQ represented since they were the 3 groups that got me into the boy bands of kpop and the first albums I owned. I loved seeing B.A.P represented because they had a huge international fanbase especially in the States and filmed MVs in the cities they did tours. A lot of younger kpop fans don't know how these 4 groups influenced the modern kpop scene, I was sad to not see beast/highlight because they also had a crazy amount of impact during 3rd Gen, but also how these groups affected the laws that impacted kpop. A little shocked to see Exo at 6, because they were one of the groups to help make kpop popular overseas. They were chosen for the Olympics because of their popularity overseas. They are also one of the most successful kpop groups of all time both as a group and solo. Personally I would've put big bang and shinee ahead of bts (thro I love all 3) just due to their long lasting impact in kpop and the hallyu wave. Kpop would not be global if it wasn't for neither group, and they set a lot of trends into place that we still see today. Individual members of both groups are also extremely important to kpop. Both were writing their own music and producing before a lot of groups were allowed to.

Exo was at the Olympics because of SM (&LSM) and the pretense that BTS said they were too good to be there (or better that they kept their schedule open for "more important" stuff - which would have been what exactly?) - which was untrue. Not that Exo don't deserve to be there. It's just not the reason why they were. And frankly BTS is on another level that all the other artists on this list. That is the objective truth. You can have any other artist as what you like best and be their fan - you don't have to like them at all - but it does not change the fact that BTS is another level. I liked that H.O.T. made the list & Shinwha. I was surprised how low Stray Kids were.

But "BTS paved the way" is said for a reason by many many artists, entertainers, media analysists and politcians. Seo Taiji told them "This is your generation now" and brought them on stage with him. If you can stomach boracity magazine she has some stuff about it. She also has 2 vids for the stuff BTS introduced. bby gang mag's video essays are older but more level headed. "How BTS paved the way" "BTS: More than K-pop" The channel "Asian Entertainment and Culture" also has some good video essays. And the argument is not: I felt they are. Globally SHINee is niche. Unfortunately.

@@zyair2713 Not sure that is true. What "paving the way" means is that there is now a chance to prove "yourself" - which is what artists like Twice or Stray Kids are trying/doing. You state that SHINee has done a lot - but you won't tell me what you think they did that was so special. Because the performance thing is pretty much all that is talked about - even by Shawol. They are pretty niche outside of Asia. And remember: first means little when it had little to no impact.

This had my Atiny heart all aflutter! They are indeed dark horses - they hit different than any other Kpop band hands down. They are master performers, have the best main singer in the industry, are amazing dancers, and do not have one bad song.
