Me neither. My mind played a trick on itself though, I have combed back through everything so I have NO idea how I was under the impression that Peter Dinklage was playing the Wizard...not just voicing the goat. There is nothing anywhere that even suggests that so I think, when I heard he was cast in the movie, I just projected him there. So much so, that when Goldblum stepped out, I was like "WTF is he doing there?"

The people in the "Wicked" movie are Perfection personified. Everyone in this movie really knows their stuff. Breathtakingly beautiful scenes. In my opinion "Popular" is one of the greatest scenes in Musicals...ever. Love the chemistry between the two actors. Cynthia Erivo gets her moments in this movie and she generously lets Ariana Grande shine in this "Popular" scene. It's wacky and beautiful.

I grew up with Taylor Louderman and my mom works with her aunt so I hear stories all the time. Even if she was talented enough (debatable,) I'm glad she didn't get the part. She was always awful to most of us in theatre and choir with her. Her reaction doesn't shock me at all because we all saw it first hand all the time. I know that was high school but apparently she hasn't really grown up much since then, and that's based on what her own family member is willing to talk to coworkers about.

I'm a Wicked fan from the start because of the book. A must read with so much more that the play can't really go into depth with. Being a book snob, I usually have low expectations of TV shows, movies, & plays being adapted from the books I love. With Wicked the play, after seeing it, I became a fan of the play & the catchy, beautiful songs and feel the play did the book justice. I've seen numerous people over the year singing Elphaba & Glinda's songs, but up to this movie, I truly felt that no one came close to Idina Menzel & Kristen Chenoweth's OG versions. However, this movie has changed that for me. At first, ngl... I was a bit apprehensive with Ariana Grande being cast as Glinda not because of her talent, but just cause I'm not a fan of hers. While I still may not be a fan of hers, I will say that Ariana slayed it as Glinda & she has made that role her own with this movie. Well done Ms. Grande! Last, but definitely not least, Cynthia Erivo's version of Elphaba has become my ultimate favorite version of this beloved character. How she sings the songs, each note and word in the lyrics have so much emotion & layer to it. I was mesmerized by her singing & acting & portrayal of Elphaba! I've become a fan of Ms Erivo's and wish her all the success she has worked & dreamed of! Truly someone I will be definitely be supporting in future endeavors! ☮ & ♥ ~ SmilingOma333 🙂

I have to agree. I thought Cynthia’s reaction to the Wicked poster Homage, was truly over the top. I admit it put me off watching the movie (a bit like Rachel Zegler, has made me not want to see Snow White). I since my Daughter and I love the musical so much, I was determined to give it a chance. I’m so glad I did, their performance was outstanding. I still feel Menzel the Chenowith, are the best. But they are too old to play the roles sadly. Ariana and Cynthia brought their own style, without detracting from the original, which rarely happens in film versions of musicals, and I really appreciate. I can appreciate the delivery they gave. To be honest I think only Steve Martin out of those mentioned could have possibly done better. Although I do think Christine Baranski (Mama Mia and Chicago) would have been a good option for Madame Morrible.

While I agree that the casting for the movie cast is perfection, I would love to see a version of Wicked with Dove Cameron and Anna Kendrick (or Lady Gaga) in the pivotal roles.

I was nervous about the movie initially but they hit it out of the park with the main 3. They did an amazing job.The only casting/performance that left me less satisfied was Jeff and Michelle. By the way I am a fan of both. However I was just left feeling like something was missing.

Dove Cameron would be great as Glinda, Ariana was simply amazing. So happy Lady Gaga didn't make it. Getting sick of her. J-Lo as part of Wicked just made me laugh 😂

Any opinions about “Losing the role to a bigger name”, which imply that Arianna Grande didn’t/wouldn’t have been the best in the role, immediately turn to sour grapes after witnessing her performance on the screen.
