Another very useful command everyone should learn is "sudo !!". What it does, is to repeat the last command you entered, but with root privileges, so, if you forgot to add sudo at the beginning of your command, or you did not know sudo was required, and now the terminal is nagging you about requiring root privileges, just "sudo !!" and voilá! You can think of it as the "shut-the-f***-up-and-do-as-I-say!!" command.

But thank God 'Windows' exists. It is because of Windows that majority of people without knowing a single command are using Computers on daily basis. Its slower definitely but productive and easy to use. Paid too 😋

@@TheTECHTract yes indeed! Most people don't want to go any further, and that's OK, but personally I regret not learning about Linux much earlier though. It was the never ending, inconvenient Windows updates that would drag on for ages, that did for me. I couldn't stand them anymore and finally installed a dual boot system, over time I used Windows less and less and finally got rid of it. Don't miss it at all apart from a couple of good programs. I have stuffed up the hard drive in Linux using the parted command by selecting the wrong drive, so my initial comment was not quite correct! However Linux is so stable that I managed to copy all my data to an external drive, phew! But you're quite right, Linux is not everyone's cup of tea, though I could argue that Linux Mint is actually easier to use than Windows and you don't need the command line either.

just reinstall it from usb. if your home directory is in different partition, reinstalling or even distro hopping wont touch your personal files

0:34 using linux terminal 30 years never touch desktop(i do not trust files to install desktop its allways been crash after update. gpu drivers fail bcoz update linux dont know how stop updating and change how pixels render i bet.manufacturers dont do driver every minor update)there is no reason upgrading just need new packages(distors suck!). now WSL enought never need use virtual server. linux is best in terminal. i not like lets take debian and add wallpaper distros
