Quick question...many people claim that the Dwarves are actually Dark Elves, do you believe these claims? I sure as heck don't because for one thing, there's no such thing as a bearded elf in folklore

Also the fact that Odin's constant paranoia and mistrust made Fenrir turn against them. Poor wolf was the victim. He didn't deserve to have a treacherous friend like Tyr.

@airesragnmag9329

@@onionbubs386 There are just a lot of sounds in Icelandic that are quite different from English, like for example the letter ð. She pronounced it as a d, when it sound more like when you put the letters th together in English. Also the cows name is written wrong here, her name is Auðhumla not Auðhumbla, minor mistake but for me it was very noticeable. Also the creatures Mare, Myling and Fossegrim I am not familiar with. Those must be from non Icelandic sources. I studied norse mythology for years growing up and have always been very interested in it. If you really enjoy norse mythology I recommend trying to find a book names Völuspá, I don't know if there are good English translations of it but it is basically just a really long poem about the course of Ragnarök from what happens before it, during it, and what happens after it. It is really cool but it might lack the impact after it is translated. Sorry for the long ass comment.

- Mare is usually a horrible female creature, that rapes men in their sleep. The Norwegian word for nightmare, is Mareritt, meaning being rode by a mare. - I don't think I've heard that word Myling before - here in Northern Norway (maybe whole country?), it's called an Utbor, which translates to "carried outside". - Huldra have some variations, but in my region they are always beautiful females, and they have never friendly intent - the seduce men and takes them away, never to be seen again. But if you toss something made of steel over her, she's your's for life :) - Draugen (Draugr in the video) has lots of local variants, but is rarely dangerous. In my region, he is depicted as a ghost in half a boat at sea. In most variations, he's simply a bad omen, meaning his appearence warns about something bad is going to happen. - Jørmungandr? Here in Norway, he's called Midgardsormen (Midgard = the world, Ormen = the snake/worm) I don't know if they use the weird R-ending in Iceland, but here in Norway, we got rid of that R in most names centuries ago.
