Top 20 Film Scores of the 20th Century

I suddenly felt the urge to make this list. I only went up to the year 2000 since I haven't seen enough movies since then to give an expert opinion. It's completely subjective and based on my own tastes. Please share your favorites in the comments.

Some good choices here. Though my own list would have to include at least a few Bernard Herrmann scores. Psycho is up there for me. As is North by Northwest.

Goblin's "Suspiria" is one of my favorites. Although nowhere near as iconic, I may have picked "Once Upon a Time in the West" or "La Califfa" over "The Good, the Bad & The Ugly" for Morricone.

I've always been partial to Jerry Goldsmith's score for the 1968 Planet of the Apes.

TanRu Nomad Don't forget Goldsmith's masterpieces for The Omen and Logan's Run. Also Miklós Rózsa's forgotten masterpiece for Time After Time. And who could forget the timeless score to the Godfather by Nino Rota?

That depends on how you define original... It is pioneering electronic music... 1970's for heavens sake :)
