Eventhough you don't know me I just wanted to say on behalf of the plant community that we love you a lot. You are a kind and informative person who gives a lot. Sometimes in life we need to make some choices in life to change jobs or to cut our losses. You need to slow down and smell the roses. Concentrate on what is important in your life like your sister and her child. On Sept. 4th, 2021 my friend's 30 year old son took his life due to depression eventhough he has a lot going for him. I don't want this to happen to you. Slow down and take a deep breath. You are a very IMPORTANT person!!!! You are number one!!!

Thank you Sophy, you are so wonderful. I LOVE the beautiful community of people I regularly have watching and commenting on my video. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a kind word. I am taking steps to improve my life and mental health, and I hope to be able to talk freely about those changed soon in a chatty repot/update video. :) You take care also! Bless you 💚

It's a LONG video today everyone, so strap in! If you are new to caring for houseplants you probably have a lot of unanswered questions. I have found 20 of the most frequently asked questions I see on social media feeds and try to answer them all in one video. I hope you find this helpful and informative! EDIT: I feel like this was less than 20 questions....... lol

Thank you, thank you, thank you..... .. so much good info. I have about 3 syngonium that have leaves that won't unfurl. Any tips?
@ThatFoliageLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Debra! Thank you for watching! :) It may be a case of watering not reaching all the parts of the soil, or lack of humidity. It could also be a sign of a lack of nutrients.

This was a very great, informative video, thanks. Wow, I did not know letting the plant dry completely kills fungus eggs and larva. With showering your plants, do you have a filtration system? I am leery of watering straight from the tap because of chlorine. Do you think it is a problem? If I just rinsed the stems and foilage with tap water only and still watered the soil after letting water stand to leech off the chlorine, would that work? Or is it really not that serious? I just saw somewhere about it causing browning tips.
@ThatFoliageLife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I have often heard this to be a problem for some people, especially for those who have higher levels of chlorine in their water. If you find you can really smell it, i would recommend installing a filter before using it on your plants. I personally don't have this as an issue, but I can understand that it is for others. Some plants are able to deal with it while others are more sensitive to it, like calathea/prayer plants.
@skyangelthefan3 жыл бұрын
Judy, I just big that big Calathea that you put in the shower. What is its full name? Please

Thanks for this very informative video. I have a question with regards to root bound plants. Is it recommended to break up the roots before repotting the plant into a bigger pot or should you not disturb the roots?
@nakter61233 жыл бұрын
To stay Safe side, not to disturb the roots when you repot, it will find its way to grow in a new pot, just give it a gentle shakes the old soil will drop down, & just repot it with rest of the soil on it, good time to repot when your plant soil is dry & b4 time of watering...this way old soil will drop down easily. Hope it will help you understand 👍
@ThatFoliageLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Christine! Yes as "n tarin" states, best to not disturb the roots. They explained it well. :) xo Apologies for my tardy response!

Some plants are more sensitive to showering, such as peperomia and plants with super dainty leaves, but majority of my plants love it.
@sofiawils38293 жыл бұрын
Your finger deep in the soil destroying roots of plant. Anyone can buy "moisture meter" & it doesn't damage the thin roots of the plant & accurately reflects the amount of moisture ..

I don't agree with some your explanation. All flying bugs & worms in the houseplant soil doesn't like "Neem OIL" . Please don't throw any houseplants! You paid for them!
@ThatFoliageLife3 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what you're saying about neem oil. Obviously I won't throw away any healthy happy houseplants lol, but there's no point in keeping a houseplant that is either dead or infested with pests. Oh and yes, I paid for them. So I can do whatever I need to with them 😂💁 Everyone's experience is unique.
